Wh I first started posting more than lurking, I must admit I used to look at Hemmsy like a sport. At no point has he ever offended me(I honestly don't think i could be offended on an online forum), but I enjoyed the ensuing clusterfuck of a debate that exploded after saying Gazza was **** or Sir Bobby was a naughty man for swearing! Eventually, I came to quite like the lad(in a Kipper Jackson-esque lunatic kind of a way)and had a few debates with. It got to the point that he was reminding me of a family member that suffers from the afore mentioned personality disorders, and I tried to put this out there so people would at least understand why he(as someone has already mentioned)doesn't seem to have a filter. Now, for clarity, he does deny that he suffers from any personality disorders except shyness. Thinking about it, Phil may have ben using this place as a kind of escape from that shyness, but we shall never know now, I suppose....
if people dont like what he puts then dont get drawn into it,ignore it its not hard surely, banning people is summat kids do
Thanks for that post. I don't unduly wish to draw attention to the chap for the wrong reasons. I just get fed up of abuse on the site and HT, whether or not he is 'winding' people up or not, seems to get automatically bombarded with angry, sometimes vicious comments. It's not on. People are far too quick to insult and name-call and it's not only HT that gets it either. Perhaps Admin ought to tighten up generally on rude, insulting behaviour anyway.
He can also completely ruin a thread. A thread is very capable of having decent debate. He then turns up. That debate is gone because he and everyone arguing against him take over. The thread no longer continues in the vain it set off. Good riddence
I don't want to come on here and read the sort of ***** he comes out with. If there was someone like that annoying me every week in the pub, I wouldn't go in there again.
Unless there is something going on beyond what he posts, then banning HT is wrong and goes against what we should stand for on this forum and in life in general - the right to free speech. Everyone has an ignore button that they can use if they wish to - I have got one poster who irritates me on ignore and it works wonderfully. Why everyone should not be given the ability to at least read what HT posts if they want to is beyond me. Shameful censoring Remember there's a government who might well think it's OK to do more to shut you up too. Don't silence people just because you don't agree with them. (if indeed he's been banned)
I tried that, but it doesn't work (for me). You don't see his posts, but you see the replies, and it slowly becomes clear that the thread has gone off the rails. It's a shame, because every now and again the lad makes some decent points, but he's had his time on here now, he's had enough chances and numerous warnings. In my opinion of course.
You didn't need to say anything else. Because trolling as he does is against site rules. No one can say he doesn't.
Search for internet troll on google. It may as well just add an additional description as HT..... In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting quarrels or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal, on-topic discussion,[3]often for the troll's amusement.
At the end of the day, Gally is the one who pays for this site and he sets the rules. If he(or the ones he appoints to administer the site on his behalf) decides that a poster is repeatedly breaking the rules(and I can imagine many warnings will be given first) then they can expect to have their access to the site removed. Hemmsy has repeatedly posted the same derogatory things over and over(which rightly or wrongly, other have been permanently banned for in the past), verbally abused the clubs players, management, media team and other posters and hijacked other peoples threads to troll other members of the board. You can go on about free speech all you want, but the truth is this site is a privately owned service and by signing up to post, you have agreed to adhere to those rules....
I think you might Yes well in my opinion HT fits none of those categories. If someone wants to say what they think then let them. Why should it upset you? He's not advocating anything against the law. You either argue or ignore. It's rather easy to do this, compared with many other things in life.
Ok let him back on You try having a debate with him. I know who will walk first and who will feel like punching the screen. And I'm not arguing with you either. We clearly won't agree on this so leave it at that
In your opinion Harmsworth tyke doesn't sow discord on the Internet by starting quarrels or upsetting people? Can you explain how that is your opinion when you have just read messages from several people saying hat is exactly what he does to them?
