Jarvis tweeted that it wouldn't be in the best interests of someone taking over a club if they didn't own the ground. Steve Houghton could kick us in ballax
Steve Houghton will need to realise value for the rate payers of Barnsley Chien Lee follows BFC as well as Blackbridge capital the firm owned by Alexander Jarvis
Don't wanna say too much but been aware of this for a few weeks, I'm not ITK just a friend who works in a field that had something to do with OCG Nice and 2+2 have been put together, it'll be good for us though.
Not necessarily. I don't like Bournemouth and Wigans route to success, or to a lesser extent, Blackburns. Two shitty little clubs and another that mirrored us in terms of their recent history, fanbase and stadium until walker rocked up. I don't think there is any danger of us buying our way to immediate promotion and a premier league title like Blackburn, and I don't think we have as far to climb as Wigan or Bournemouth to reach the next level. Barnsley fc shouldn't feel uneasy about being taken over and what others might say. We made the premier league under our own steam, have a decent stadium and fan base. I think we deserve a bit of toffee from the football gods.
Been on line to look at these guys. Mr Lee has interests in the Plateno Group which looks to manage over 1,000 hotels in South East Asia and Europe and New City Capital who are based in Charlottesville Virginia. They are involved in private equity, growth capital, management buy-outs and the re-capitalisation of Companies without a definitive succession plan ( that describes us really). Former US Banker Paul Conway is involved with Mr Lee and other investors and between them they own 80% of French League 1 Club Nice. The Nice Vice-President Jean Pierre Rivière has the remaining 20% and continues to manage the Club with the Clubs General Director. Nice achieved fourth place in the League last season and Monsieur Rivière says that the investment that's been put in by the majority shareholders sees the Club set fair for the future.! Sounds extremely promising. What does everyone else think.?
Come on you Oakwell Red Dragons! (If t'council won't sell the ground let's just form a single-issue political party, get in, sell it and dissolve.) Looking forward to the pre-season friendly in Nice.
Yes I read that as well - though of course the article is in the Daily Mail so treat anything in there with extreme caution. Doesnt give you a warm fuzzy feeling though if we are 3rd choice
Well as it seems that this does have legs, all I'd say is let's be a bit wary whilst realising we won't have Patrick around to keep us under his wing forever. Growth capitalisation involves making something bigger then capitalising on it by letting it go in some way in which you make money on it. We have seen how this can end up in certain clubs of similar size and histories: the Blackpools, Blackburns- how success and its money can be 'recapitalised'. Whilst I accept that the current regime has to end at some point, I'd be worried about neglecting our longevity in the pursuit of short term thrills.
