Don't you mean, okay now do all the amounts every other manager in the Championship has spent? As that is what we are up against. It makes no difference at all how much Hecky has spent if everyone else has spent 10x the amount. Also in that list needs to be included anyone they signed outside this summer (same for our squad too). Comparing our whole squad's value to other club's whole squad's value is probably the best barometer.
Not just the players we've sold but also the players that we've lost who needed replacing. The likes of Brownhill, Pearson, Morsy, Fletcher et al. All left a void when their loan periods came to an end.
Are you going to subtract the money brought in from players sold, or are you going to go quiet again? We've spent an awful lot of money under Hecky - agreed. But I doubt we've ever had a manager under whom we've brought so much in either.
Who do you include in that? Stones yes or no. Sold a long time ago. majority of money was made 12 month ago.
And compared to all the other teams in the division he is competing against? How do we compare there? Is that not important? You mention Davey, and I don't know if he has spent more or less, but it was a completely different financial climate from a football point of view wasn't it? How does that factor in?
Just making a discussion point Gally. I think some teams will spend more than us and some less. I think Burton, Bolton andMaybe forest will spend less than us. Sheff U? Millwall? Ipswich? Preston? I'm not sure about.
And what has he spent on wages please? Aidan McGeady cost Sunderland the same as we paid Swansea for Ryan Hedges. Conservatively, one is on 8 times the wages of the other.
That is also very true, without looking at all the signings made by championship teams I'd imagine we're well below almost every one of them barring a couple of teams.
