    To say we have a new squad to bring in - things on the transfer front have been very very slow.

    I can't have just been the only one who thought that Ganaye as a CEO would mean lots of French and other continental players here on at least a trial - but nowt.
    Getting seriously concerned now - especially if there's no news today.
    FFS - get Hecky back in charge of transfers.

    You do utter some ******. Ben Mansford hailed from Manchester .......... was it his fault we lost all the good and great talent from the North-West to the big clubs from Manchester and Merseyside?
    I bet PSG and Marseille are sleeping soundly knowing that lil' old Barnsley aren't managing to grab all the frog talent.

    I dont want lots of french.

    Rather we stuck to UK.

    Newcastle and arsenal have signed half the French nation over recent years and a fat lot of good it did them too.

    We are not far off. And hecky as spelt it out more than once why things take time.

    We got our first 8(ish..?) signing in very quickly so harsh to call them slow. Just struggling to get the right striker in, plus a couple more.

    Is this a wind up? The role a CEO is in the everyday running of Barnsley FC, which includes the running of the business. That includes everything non football, whether, I heard Gauthier say he wanted to run a English business and develop new skills and have the experience of living back in UK for him and his wife. The role of a CEO is not just about transfers and player contracts.
    Not having a go,just seems an incredibly negative post,based on no evidence.

    It's absolutely nothing to do with either the CEO or the 'purse strings' it's down to clubs not releasing players we actually want.

    I don't know how many times Hecky can say he wants specific players and not rubbish and he's prepared to wait for his preferred targets. I'd wager a decent amount on us still picking up McBurnie and A.N.Other before we play Bristol.

    1) It sometimes crosses my mind that certain posters can't be for real, but some of the oddities they come out with are so strange that I find it hard to believe anyone could invent them.

    Come on Conan. I'm going to start trying to meet you half way from now on, but the only way we ever have our dealings made public is if they're leaked. PH steadfastly flat refuses to discuss concrete interest in other players. Why would we reveal who we're bidding for?

    But that's not down to the CEO. He might be involved in contract negotiations but he's not a scout and I doubt he has much say on transfer fees or wages.
