Thank you for posting all these videos, mate. Along with our signings and all the old photos, they've really whetted my appetite for the coming season. You're a good 'un.
I actually saw you pull a rather large engagement ring out of your pocket at the Burton match, then put it away again when his bicycle kick didn't go in. I assume you bought that straight after the Wendies match?
It was actually after the Leeds game at Elland Road when he put in that massive tackle in the penalty area. I've been choosing my moment ever since. That overhead kick would have been it. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Was that the one where after scoring Coops ran to the right of the goal at the Ponte End towards the West Stand and did a forward somersault.? If it was I was at that game and I remember it well. 100% trier was our Stevie. Sadly he was found dead in his bed at home in Birmingham aged 39 in 2004 leaving a wife and 2 kids. Very sad.
I'll have a bottle of Cava and a bunch of flowers under my seat, at every home match, until that moment comes.
Yep, think you're correct. Scored in the Ponty end goal and did his thing! Ironically sad that someone who could jump and head a ball like him died of a head injury that was more serious than thought. Still the best leap and spring I've ever seen. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
I've got a feeling the moment will come at Bramhall Lane. Overhead kick whilst balancing with one hand from Billy Sharpe's head, blindfolded and in the 95th minute to complete his hattrick in a 3-2 win. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Proper player come gymnast was Coops. Could out jump anyone by a country mile. It was years after he died before I found out, and it really saddened me. One of my first Oakwell heroes.
Cooper did score with a brilliant chip over Tony Norman in our 3-0 victory over Sunderland on Easter Monday 1989. He then celebrated with his now famous high flip.
