    I'm not saying Conor didn't say it, simply that I've never seen or heard a recording of him saying it. I actually heard Patrick say that neither Conor or Sam would sign a new contract.

    A quote attributed to Conor in the chronicle:
    I think if the club had come to us in the summer, before the Championship started, a lot of us probably would have signed a contract. But they didn't.
    I would have signed a long-term contract last summer but nothing was on the table. The situation hasn't changed that much but we have performed well in the Championship so let's see what happens.

    Not to me it's not. What exactly would the club have to gain by not offering their two best players extended deals, then fibbing about it, and pretending that the players weren't interested? The players would have refuted it straight off, and been rightly highly peeved two months into the new season.

    Sorry, old mate, but if folk are using Patrick's spoken, recorded word, then it's only fair to hear & see Conor's spoken, recorded word, simply for balance.
    I have no agenda against Conor or what he actually said. After all, he's by far and away my favourite Barnsley player since our last relegation and I would select him in my all-time favourites Barnsley XI.
    Then again, I don't have an agenda against Patrick, either.:)

    I don't doubt that they f-cked up royally when not offering new deals to Scowen, Roberts and Watkins ahead of time. But to have made up some tales at a public forum about Hourihane and Winnall - just doesn't make any sense to me.
