Hecky: "We want to be the most successful Barnsley team since the year 2000." Continue reading on the official site...
Nah. The board think **** it. No matter what we do a few sad ***** on the bbs will still moan. We give them promotion, 2 final wins at Wembley. We're in the same position as we were Mid December, before making £10m, we have plans to recruit this summer, but these dip **** "fans" still need to make 37 different posts a day about how badly the club is run.
Good interview by Paul (and Janko)If he reads this board some of the comments must really hurt him.He comes over as very proud of what the team as done and the never say die attitude. Its a pity every one can't see the great strides we've made since his appointment.
Agree. I left Oakwell on saturday buzzin. Who the hell do some of our fans think we are. Yes weve made mistakes recently but so what. Were in the championship, a league that is almost a premier league 2, playing some top sides, week in week and were doing really well. We have a tarn lad owner, tarn lad manager and a tarn lad captain. In my opinion we aint ever getting in the premier league again and I for one arent that bothered, its a filthy greedy league that doesent deserve honest hardworking clubs like us. Just look at what some teams have spunked trying to get there and still find themselves below us. Ive enjoyed this season enormously and look forward to next. And whatever happens...were still tarn...and always will be!!!
Hecky's view on it.. "It has been another memorable season where again, Barnsley have defied everyone’s pre-season expectations. On the pitch we have shown real quality and played some superb football. We have battled hard, shown passion, fight and determination to make sure that this Football Club makes our town proud. The lads have delivered and we have made huge progress in establishing ourselves back in this fantastic league. What we’ve now got at this Football Club is special. I also truly believe that the connection between the Club and the fans has never been closer. Your owner is from Barnsley, your Head Coach is from Barnsley and your Captain is from Barnsley. Can any other Club claim that? It’s truly unique. Everyone working behind-the-scenes understands that this Football Club belongs to the town and the people, and decisions that we make have a big impact on your lives. So over time we’ve tried to bring the Club back into the community and into the hearts of the people, and we really hope that you now feel this connection"
Who in their right mind has criticised Hecky? Everyone is over the moon with him. He has done a fantastic job and long may that continue
What apparently fcuks him off is the 'season's over' attitude of some. He (and the staff/players) don't think so.
The season is over though. Won't go up and won't go down. We haven't got much to play for though unless I'm missing summat Overall we have done well and I for one and thankful for the excellent job done by Paul and his team. We have moved forward a lot in a small space of time.
there is pride to play for, league position. It is what Hecky has spoken about today. I never doubted for a second that he would not want to finish as highly as possible
Of course there is. That's people doing the job they are paid to do. I'd expect pride from any Barnsley team still remains that the season is dead as far as we are concerned. I'd rather we treated it as such ditched the loanees other than James and tried our own lads.
Yeah but not far enough for some to be able to make their minds up yet on whether they buy a season ticket next season.
Some People have other priorities and things in their life. I, for example, have 2 young kids and not much free time so might want to spend more time with them rather than watching 22 daft lads kicking a ball. It's the way of the world.
The world is doomed. We're being deliberately run into the ground. Conor and Winnall begged to stay but the board drove them to Villa Park and Hillsborough hog tied and in the boot. Hecky wishes we were still in L1 playing Rochdale and Gillingham each week.
Our first season back in the Championship has been a total joy to me. I never expected the start we had, or some of our results (wolves away). We have never been hammered by score line, although I did feel that Fulham seemed a league above. I for one, do not believe the Premier League is beyond our reach, but one needs a bit of luck along with results to achieve it.
I think you are mixing things up - of what the fans think of Hecky and what he's done - and - the lack of leadership from the directors. Hecky remains at Barnsley because he's a fan. His tone during interviews in 01/17 revealed a lot. If he wasn't a fan he probably would have walked by now. And he could still do so. 01/17 will not be forgotten
