How we going to sell 15k season tickets we can't use half of the west stand what we going to do share a seat
We would never put home fans with cheap season tickets in the north stand it generates too much income in away support in this league especially with leeds, wednesday, blades,Sunderland ect next season
Maybe, but does a regularly full stand of 6000 reds fans override the few hundred that some teams would bring. You're only looking at a few that might half fill it, and the extra money fleeced out of them, but I'd love to see the three full stands every home game.... sod the away support, renovate the old stand a bit. Huddersfield gave us a reduced allocation at their place I believe, was that because they have more home fans to take their place? Also there would be the extra income generated from food, drink and programmes, draw tickets etc from the regular 6000.
Bang on, not quite sure why the powers that be cannot see the bigger picture in terms of additional revenue from an increased fanbase attending. (Shirts, Scarves, Hats, Catering, Programmes, draw tickets) We would easily hit 15/16k on a similar offer to Bradford. I'm afraid the excuses around not opening the other half of the west stand don't really wash. They are what they are, excuses. Another point, more fans at Oakwell every match should result in an increased take-up of sponsorship deals and higher premiums.. Win / Win.
How come we can’t use all the West Stand? Crowd Trouble and all that? Don’t u think we should cover all of the empty seats with flags or even advertising? Will look better than just empty seats imo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And what happens if you make it dirt cheap and they still don't sell? Give them away free. It's not viable.
Can't you sell them with a rider in the sales that says if X figures are met then they go out at a certain price, if they aren't then they are a different price? How do you know it's not viable without looking into it in detail?
Is that how it currently works? Just a flat fee? Even if that's true then isn't the franchise worth more with a higher footfall than it is with a lower footfall? And doesn't a higher valued franchise demand a higher fee?
Fairly sure Mansford told us otherwise. Not sure we have the same caterers next season anyroad Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
If this is a viable business option you have to ask why more clubs aren't doing it - you may get more money from catering but surely you need more stewards, catering staff etc who all need paying plus increased policing costs
Well for several clubs you can rule it out because they already get high attendances. For some you can rule it out due to archaic stadiums making opening them more expensive than others. I suppose the question shouldn't be 'if this is viable why aren't others doing it?' and should be more ' why is this viable for these clubs?'
We (BFCST) suggested it with the club under The Don and Mansford and the additional costs was certainly one factor mentioned. Risk was one of the others (mitigations such as a sliding scale are not the easiest to implement either). I think under The Don the club shop and catering deals meant there wasn’t much more revenue to be gained there. This probably isnt the case now. I seem to remember it being disussed that some of these had not been financially successful examples either. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Maybe the owners at some clubs can cover loses or financial costs which come with it. If it such a good business model other clubs would have followed . As a club we've only had decent crowds when we've been doing really well - I don't think we would average around 16k if we lowered the costs
You can't have a scheme that sells tickets at an even cheaper price than the early bird sales. It just isn't viable.
I think part of the issue with this would be that we would need to ringfence the money somehow(I'm sure that is a legal requirement of running this sort of thing), which would incur additional costs. Also, I've always been under the understanding that season tickets are sold to guarantee the club almost a lump sum of income to help cover the reduction of income in pre season, and to allow them to set wage/transfer budgets etc. A scheme like this would mean we wouldn't know our actual budgets until much later... Or I may be talking crap....
