It's totally bonkers to sell him for 500k To a local rival Promotion rival When we don't need the money - here is one situation where we could let him rot in the reserves if he wants to leave and it would be in our better interest to do so. 2m I could understand but 500k what does that buy you - 2 Cole Kpewkachas or whatever he is called.
With six months or less remaining on an existing contract for players aged 23 or older, they are free to negotiate with other clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement, indicating their ability to move to their intended club on a Bosman transfer when the next transfer window opens. Off Wikipedia granted. So unless rules have changed over last couple of years I don't know.
Pretty sure that's for foreign clubs only. They said as much on SSN t'other day (not that they're known for accuracy). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've only half arsed searched for it so it probably is. Sure I've managed it on FM though at some point lol. Although it is also a few years since I played that aswell
This illustrates the flaw in our 'Blueprint' of acquiring lower league talent, developing them and selling them on for a big profit. That only works if you always have them tied down to a contract of a minimum of 12 moths ahead. How we have managed to arrive at a situation when literally over half of our 1st team are out of contract in the summer, is beyond me. Nobody is going to pay more than £1m at the very most for a player they can get for nothing in the summer. Bearing that in mind, I'm not surprised a figure of £500k is being talked about. What does surprise me is that Sam actually wants to go unless the wages on offer iare ludicrously high. He could get as much or more in the summer, even with us if we were promoted. I would have thought he might want to see the job through with us until the end of the season. Maybe I'm just being naive.
At the moment he's in great form so it's in his interest to leave now whilst his form is at it's peak, he's not injured (look what happened with Buttercup) and so he doesn't have to have six months longer on poor wages as I imagine the difference between what he can get now and the summer with a signing on fee will be more than made up with on the wage increase anyway. I agree about our blueprint though. Totally flawed to risk allowing so many star players to possibly leave for nothing or way under normal market value.
Winnall cant talk to clubs until BFC accept a bid for him. If BFC accept a bid anywhere near the 500k being rumoured then someone has lost the plot.
I agree but if we did accept a bid he'd be off this month and his "seeing out his contract" reason for not signing a new one with us will be shown as the excuse it is.
If we accept 500k the club need to then come out and say why. 500k is a joke and undermines the transfer policy and everything what was said before the transfer window opened the "we don't need to sell" ********.
