Similar to the Nottingham game and we start off like a train. Thought we should have been 2/3-0 up in the first 15 minutes but we don't take it. It really frustrates me to see this happen. It's been happening since Ipswich away. People talk about well we've scored x amount of goals and we are the whatver highest scorers in the league. Bristol City at Oakwell's another one. Pleased for the defence to have got through that. Roberts injured? wouldn't be too surprised if he was missing on Saturday. At one stage I was thinking just go down because something's not right. Remember at one stage Emnes got the ball in our half and he had a hand touching the ground when I presume was trying to check it. We got some luck yesterday. Davies's kicking had gone at one point. Not sure whats happened there but he seems to have got a yips over kicking and will look to complain over anything when doing it. Maybe we could have been looking for the throw out. Reading Blackburn comments and they are really hard on themselves. I thught they looked okay yesterday. Play like that and they will pick up enough points with those players. The problem with come when they look at what they have in Febuary because a lot could go. Emnes and Gallagher go back in January. The latter could be a good option for Barnsley. Thought he looked okay yesterday. Didn't get much in the first half but the second he looked good. Almost got past Yiadom with a nice stepover which got talked and went for a corner. Not only them two though. Charlie Mulgrew Craig Conway Elliott Bennett Hope Akpan Corry Evans. Some nice players. From the worst fan ever to visit Oakwell.
i was really surprised to hear them booing of their team at half time. they could easily have been 3-1 up and were still looking capable of scoring at anytime in the 2nd half in which they dominated possession. more self confidence and better finishing would have sunk us. mind you davies was outstanding, watkins looks unstopable running with the ball and winnall's on fire (6 in 6?) double figures already..
Think the boo'ing is all to do with their protest at Venkys and dislike of Coyle. A lot of their fans only go to away games to protest. Example of a clubs heart and soul being ripped out by foreign owners. God bless Paddy Cryne. Makes you realise how lucky we are.
Winnalls certainly on fire and more to come imo. He didn't score at Wendy's by the way so six in seven I think.
We are ninth in the championship Cast your mind back 12 months and we were in a relegation place in league one. It's a good time to be a red. By all accounts we were not at our best get won the game. My brother went and said in his opinion Davies was his man of the match. Sometimes it's nice to.embrace the positives rather than constantly searching for the negatives.
We've several players who picked up a knock yesterday, but Hecky thinks that they're just knocks and will be okay. Roberts, Yiadom and Armstrong were all mentioned (I think). If I remember right, he said Yiadom was the one who'd taken the biggest knock so we'll see how that goes. Players like Emnes and Gallagher are in the twilight of their careers, they're clearly in a decline. Martin Emnes a few years ago would have had a field day against us yesterday. However he looked incredibly wasteful and a shadow of his former self in my opinion. I think it's apparent what our recruitment strategy will be in January. It's worked thus far. I was only saying to my brother that the sort of team Blackburn has put together isn't too disimilar from the sort of teams we had when we were last in this league. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
According to their forum it's the fans who refuse to go to home games who are travelling to away matches and venting their frustration, primarily at Coyle and the Venky's. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
Blackburn fans said that they only know one way of playing, which is attack, and can't defend for toffee. I think that was evident yesterday. Winall totally unmarked for his goal, Bradshaw similarly for his header across goal. Every team is going to have a spell during a game, we won and had a clean sheet. Put it down to good luck, good defending or profligacy on their part the stats say a 2 0 home win. Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk
can't imagine what genius thought it was a good idea to employ the ex manager of their biggest rivals.
Another one of those I think I am better than I actually am managers. Think Martin Allen..Phil.Brown Billy Davies.
Aye I've just googled it. I don't think we should sign him either. I suppose you could replace him in my original post with Danny Graham and the rest still stands. #TeamsLikeBarnsley
We have played better than that this season and lost I'm just happy we played not at our best and got the win. As for davies kicking don't think the wind helped.
