Wonder if Barnsley do similar? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA8JVhlN8-g Good on John Stones and Fabian Delph for answering the questions Fabian says eat your greens, not sure Stones would say the same.
Have you seen him. He's clearly laughing when the questions asked and when Fabians telling the audience to get veg. Just my observation.
Thats a good question - Do the players sometimes visit schools and talk to the kids? I think they might but I am not sure Stones and Delph come out of that very well dont they
I saw it more as an laughing because Delph says mums are ALWAYS right. I didn't see it as John Stones hinting that you don't need to eat vegetables
I overheard Ben Mansford telling someone that the players are contracted to do so much but the club don't make them do the maximum. The max amounts set by the pfa. They come out of it very well. I remember Stones when he was 16 and he's still seems to be very similar. You talk to him and he'll stand and talk to the person back for however long they wanted.
I don't think too many on here will watch the bigger clubs youtube stuff but they are really good. I think they all have their subscription stuff too but the youtube stuff are brilliant. Now Whitey will be on here and say like all the media staff at the club would say it's not possible but it's something Barnsley should be looking at the content the likes of Manchester City produce. I like the stuff Man City produce. they do a lot of videos per week too. I like the inside city video's and they just show what goes on. A little bit of the u18's, a little bit of the u23's and so on. The tunnel cam can be interesting too espcially when it kicks off like after their game against Chelsea. I've also noticed the clubs are getting people to do video's with the players. It would be great publicity for the club to get the F2 guys down or that Daniel Cutting who's done video's with pepsi and the likes. The F2 guys have done video's with some big stars in the past.
??????????? If you think the club are doing well with youtube then look at this https://socialblade.com/youtube/user/1barnsleyfc go down to the YOUTUBE PROGRESS GRAPHS FOR 1BARNSLEYFC and you will see it's flat lined. The short snappy click bait stuff isn't on there any more. In jan 2014 the club got 600,000k plus views in one month just after Cywka smashed in against derby. The club unloaded a short snappy video of around 1 minute or less
Barnsley probably have a no more than a handful for a media team. I'm guessing, but I reckon man city have a fair few more and can also pay to outsource stuff to bigger firms. Money talks.
You make a habit of criticising others in their professional lives, so tell us all what your profession is and what it is that you've achieved that gives you the right to pass judgement on others. Go on, we're all waiting.
I'm fast losing the will to live. Pointless. Happy Christmas one and all, might see you in Redfearns sometime. Sent via Royal Mail and typed up by my Tapatalk byatch
It's all about scale Phil - we can't compete with clubs like City so it's pointless comparing us to them. I think our current media team do a pretty good job.
I think they've done a damned good job, in no small part to the well known lad who posts on here. It's been fantastic. But it's not all down to him, he's part of a SMALL team who take a tremendous amount of pride in providing a service to us. It's like every other part of the CLUB. The team take the plaudits for 2016 but the media team, club shop, directors, staff et al have all contributed to the best feelgood factor since the early 80s / Prem days. Next week's issue: Stewards footwear: Should they all wear standard black Doc Martens like Chelsea stewards do or do we slum it with trainers? Sent via Royal Mail and typed up by my Tapatalk byatch
I understand this Mario. I do understand this but why can't we and those that in the media team look at their channel and think we could try that. That social blade graph shows that the club have flatlined on a fast growing platform for a long time. Looking at the video's that are going out they aren't going viral. It just won't happen. Video's of Barnsley have gone big for the club in the past. Do the people within the club understand the platform? How come they were performing better 2/3 years ago now. 6 video's of a 100k views plus and two within a couple of k views of reaching that. Out of the top ten video's 8 are 1 minute or less. 9 out of the 10 are are from 2 plus years ago with Armstrongs stunner the only video of recent time making the top 10. With AA's links to a massive club that clip should be gettiing more than 62k views. This isn't a dig at anyone and it's something I'd say to Whitey's face and I hope he'd understand what I meant by it. He came on here when he joine the team and asked how they could imrpove all area's from a fans point of view. I'm surprised Linton Brown been so much about marketing in his former position it's not something he's looked at. build the base of the channel and get poeple watching. Then it not only promotes the players on the pitch but it's a great tool to promote Barnsley player and the sponcors they have and hope to gain in the future.
You are looking at an issue that simply does not exist. I've got to ask you Phil, is there anything the club has done right in 2016? I can think of a couple of minor things myself, but you? Sent via Royal Mail and typed up by my Tapatalk byatch
