Which is more than Stubbs was willing to pay. I'm not sure we can afford to pay that much for a reserve forward. I can't see the player being happy about the game time he is getting either, but that's the problem with competition for places.
Even worse. £1.5 million paid out on three players not getting a regular shirt. Bradshaw, Moncur and Kpekawa.
Outlay on those 3 doesn't look very good business at all at the moment. Still think Bradshaw could come good as he hasn't really had a chance yet. Kpekawa has been poor to date but I reckon he'd probably fare better at CH. Moncur is definitely a waste of 500k though. Bad attitude & can't even get a game with a mid table L1 side. Needs offloading in Jan if possible......
Doubt that's got anything to do with it. We've got millions in the bank. It's conor who's so far refused to sign a new contract Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kpekawa didn't cost 450k same as the 16 year old on a 1 year deal didn't cost 1 million. Bradshaw will get his chance I'm sure he is on a 3 year deal.
I wonder if most of our transfer incomings were decided BEFORE our second trip to Wembley. All these lads would have guaranteed the League One Championship for us. Unfortunately........we got promoted so we have ended up with some of the best L1 players money can buy who are not good enough to nail down a place at this level. I'm not writing anyone off just yet but I suspect that we might be cutting our losses on one or two in January.
Patrick Cryne said both him and Winnall wouldn't sign a new contract Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It may well be Hourihane resisting a new contract, who thinks that he might be able to cut it in the Premier League, if anyone comes in for him. Which is possible, but seems to me a long shot. He is not good enough for the Premier League. More likely is that he can get more money elsewhere. He owes us nothing either, after the last 12 months.
We can't compete with what others in this league can offer connor has the potential to be the best midfielder in this league and is already up there. Henri lansbury is on 50k a week we can't even afford a quarter of that. Hth
Not new news though, he said it on Radio Dee darr Shortly after he'd sacked Stubbs. Stating that he would've continued to bid for Bradshaw and other targets had Stubbs wanted them.
Surely after the last 12 months we have to trust in the club, it's recruitment strategy and it's coaching setup? Conor wants to hold open the possibility of playing Premiership football next season, which he won't do with us. We can't begrudge him that chance. Tom Bradshaw may be part of the next playing design for us after Sam departs next Summer. Kpekawa will be coached and developed so that he is a ready-made replacement for Marc Roberts. It will all work out, and I for one won't be questioning it.
Do you not wish to see Barnsley in the Premier League? Do you think our owners/manager/ players don't have the ambition to see Barnsley in the Premier League?
