Young man supposedly sleeps with woman who isn't his girlfriend shocker.

i don't think I'll be berating him seeing as I, and many of my friends (men and woman) have made the odd mistake in our lives.

But still. It's probably more important to report this ladies claims than it is report on the news in Syria.

I always thought Ashley Cole got treated much worse for cheating than other footballers. He did the exact same as Beckham which was to cheat on his popstar girlfriend yet Beckham got next to no stick & Cole was spoke about like he was a massive scumbag.

Guess it helps when you constantly play the media & give them material like Beckham did

To footballers yes, most of the rest of us don't have women throwing themselves at us.

She's basically a better-looking version of the girlfriend which must hurt even worse, in a normal relationship he'd probably get the boot, being a rich footballer he almost certainly won't, this is another way that footballers are different from most people.

That was sort of my point. And some people don't need loads of women throwing themselves at them to do what he's done. It's not right but it doesn't make him a bad person. I'm sure he'll learn from it.

A few points JamDrop, hopefully you aren't nursing a nosebleed from the heady heights of that high horse you're on:

    1. There only appears to be you that reads my post in that way.

    2. The only praise I offered him was for how he has conducted himself generally despite being thrust into 'the big time' at a very young age.

I most certainly did not praise him for cheating on his girlfriend. In fact the post says I don't condone it. So saying I'm praising a two timing cheater isn't an accurate reflection at all. I'm praising a young talented footballer and suggesting that he shouldn't be hung out to dry and judged for making a mistake which many, many others have and will make. Assuming he even has.

    3. I never at any point called anyone a slapper. 'Basically' or otherwise. I suspect she might have done a little more running than the article suggests - she might not have done, but either way I'd never label anyone a 'slapper' or judge on it. Who you choose to sleep with, how many and why is a personal choice. If - IF - she put it on a plate, then good for her if she got what she set out to get, whether that be the man or the newspaper fee.

    4. You are accepting the word of the Daily Mail that she genuinely thought that he was single. My post questions the likelihood of that being true.

    5. There are plenty of other posters that have taken the point about being a 22 year old lad who got his head turned. In the same position how many of us would have resisted? I never at any point said this made it right - but it does make it understandable on a human level. I take your point about super human, bit strong, but you should see what I mean. I would wager most young lads in that position would struggle not to stray in the same circumstance, the few who wouldn't would be the exceptions.

    6. You label him a two timing cheater as though it's really unusual and that it makes him some kind of criminal. On a moral level, no, it's not nice, but the truth is a high percentage of relationships breakdown due to cheating these days, doesn't excuse it per se - but don't pretend it's a practice restricted to the big headed footballers.

My whole post was written from the perspective that if he has done wrong (which we can't actually confirm either way), then it shows him to be human with flaws like everyone else.

The article is written in a way that makes him look 100% villain and the girl whiter than white and perfectly innocent. I question the likelihood of that being completely true. Sorry but I take anything written in a newspaper in such a sensationalised fashion with a pinch of salt. There's likely to be some truth to it - but if it's all 100% as written I'd be amazed.

If we believed everything the papers said we'd be in big, big trouble.

Like someone else has said, wealthy young lad sleeps with pretty girl on night out behind his girlfriend's back. Not exactly news. You seem to want to vilify him for it. I don't.

No I don't at all, my only issue with what you said was that you repeatedly blamed it on the girl 'putting it on a plate'. I'm not really passing judgement on what he did either way as it happens all over the country amongst rich, poor, famous, unknown, male, female etc. every single day. The only thing I was commenting on was that your post came across in a way that suggested that she was the one to blame and he was just an unsuspecting lad who shouldn't be expected to do anything else.

Anyone who had a bird like Cheryl Cole at that time and cheated wanted hanging.

Too right they would. I've made mistakes in my life, many of them that I still regret now but at his age I lived by very different rules. As I said, what he did was wrong, I have no doubt his parents will be in his ear about it, but I hope he'll learn from his mistakes. He's 22 and living a dream most of us have no comprehension of. Hopefully he will regret it and be a better man as a result.

**** me = there you go again. I didn't even spot the typo - but off you go...

Man reads - rich young men will be rich young men and gold diggers will be gold diggers - no reason to splash it all over like it's actual news and that cos frankly - no **** sherlock.

Woman reads - 15 episodes of a soap opera....gripping thrills spills romance, betrayal, epic naval battles, desert islands and a train rushing into a tunnel, on top of mysogeny - women unjustly portrayed in a love triangle of jealously hatched misgivings - or somat.

At least you've helped explain why there are 250 shades of white at B and Q and I can only see white.

    Thankyou.

Think the girlfriend is better looking. She looks like a natural normal looking lady. Who he's cheated with looks like a stereotypical wag with fake tan and done up with too much makeup.
