You asked what his philosophy was. I pointed it out and why he failed mostly as apposed to hecky. You aren't bothered about systems you said and then change your argument to exactly that. Make your mind up.
You'd be better off going for Hecky mate... Actually forget that, go for LJ, he's the ********. And will look even smaller in your ground...
When LJ left (which was a miracle in itself, in that we got compensation for a manager many of us were desperate to be sacked) we didn't actually replace him, in manpower terms. Hecky simply moved up from the 1st team coach role, which wasn't backfilled during the season. I can't recall an equivalent footballing example of operating with one less coach over a prolonged period of time and seeing such a dramatic improvement in performances and results, which tells you all you need to know about LJ. I've never been happier to see a coach/manager depart the club, and the turnaround in results and performances after his departure speak for themselves. Not sure what the solution is at Sunderland, but I'd be seriously worried for you if it involved Lee Johnson.
I very much doubt he's on any scouts lips, unless those scouts are from L1/L2 looking for a loan move. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
But in fairness, you wanted shut of Hourihane amongst other pearls of wisdom. So I'll trust the scouts judgment/lips. But cheers.
Think what you'll find I said was that he either needed to improve or move on. He improved and I was proven correct once more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think he'd be superb for both sheffield clubs, Leeds and even Donny. Anyone else should steer well clear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know a championship scout who was telling me how impressed he was with both Yiadom & MacDonald on the two occasions he's seen them this season & that they're the type of player his team should've been after in the summer. I don't really know what's not to rate about MacDonald. Just because he's tall & doesn't look a million dollars playing out from the back doesn't mean we should ignore how good he's been defensively
Look lad (I assume this), singularly the worst thing that happened to BFC in many years was the appointment of Johnson, he was a complete disaster from start to finish and I for one (and many) was so glad we found a way to get rid of him without financial penalties. He showed no comprehension of tactics or line-ups, was naive in every sense of the word. Oldham were glad to get rid and we were so what does that tell you? he somehow got this label of being a young ambitious manager with much promise, but god knows where he got that tag because he displayed nothing of that at Barnsley. Sunderland are too big a club to mess with this lad. although I was amazed and shocked that you lads could have gone with Moyes who never delivered at a big club like Everton, was a complete failure at United and I think was even sacked abroad before you guys took him on. They say if you employ monkeys then thats what you get. Too many managers with inflated names, Maclaren being a typical example. In the position you guys are in then I think you need to plan for the premiership next season and get a proven manager who has done it before there. Just my opinion.
If I were Sunderland I'd be breaking the bank to get Eddie Howe. Someone who knows what it takes in both the Championship and now surviving in the PL, is young and plays good football. I know he'll have a lot of suitors but I said in the summer Newcastle should have gone and got him. Still think the wheels will fall off there with that clown Benitez in charge. Yes we did, and how did he repay us? By jumping ship when the first offer came knocking. We were best rid
And that still now, with hindsight was the wrong idea. He should have been gone in the summer before last season after the way he cost us a genuine chance at the play offs and the way he did it. Like I said many times last autumn time, its all well and good giving a manager time and support but you have to have the right man in position, something it was abundantly clear he was not. Yes I did, and it was definitely more entertaining. At least we passed the ball forward and got the ball in the box more than 5 times per game.
As if that would happen, he doesn't like it up north, he walked out on Burnley as he was 'home sick'!
Make your own mind up with this:- http://www.scienceandfootball.com/Uploads/sf-presentation---lee-johnson--nathan-winderpdf.pdf I still can't get past slide 5 without falling around laughing like one of them things off the 70's Smash adverts. Don't take our word for it, take those of Bill Shankly, "Football is a simple game complicated by idiots (like Johnson)."
Yes clown. The guy who sold Alonso to try to get Gareth Barry. The man who is constantly appointed at clubs, only to be sacked 6 months down the line and get a pay off. The man who has always had money to spend and has still never had prolonged success. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Maybe so, but at some point he's gunna have to take charge of a bigger club and it'll have to be 'up north' to him. Lets also not forget that Sunderland and Burnley are two completely different places and clubs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
