About the final days of Hitler in the Berlin bunker. Well worth watching, very gruelling but historically fascinating.
Is that with the scene where he wants to go on a day trip to Yorkshire but they book Lancashire instead?
When the series "World at War" was made in 1972 one of the regular interviewees was Traudl Junge, Hitler's secretary, the one in this film. One can only imagine what her life was like as a young woman growing up in the Third Reich, becoming secretary to such a person in that regime, surviving it and telling the tale at a later date. The trauma in the bunker really came to a head with Goebbel's six children all being given poison by their mother to save them from the Russians. She didn't want them to grow up in a world without National Socialism. Very sad. Bizarrely their names all began with the letter H.
Well, that's my mind blown for the night. How did the world get into such a mess? Sorry for blabbering on. Goodnight,
