Looked pretty good today, should be pleased with his debut against a team most predict will be promoted this season. Well done fella.

Is Jackson any better than MacDonald?

Put some fairly robust tackles in though. Positionally was good and distributed the ball quite well.

Me too. Looked more composed, seemed more proactive than reactive, won at least his fair share of headers.

As someone else in the thread mentioned, though Bree and Yiadom were good tonight, Yiadom especially.

Unfair to say after one game but a decent debut. Looks a strong player, good in the air and could have scored.

Should have scored but I was impressed with him tonight. Very good debut considering the opposition.

Possibly at fault for both goals. Should have got more on his header for the first and looked a bit slow off the mark for the second. You could argue McDonald's physicality and speed would have meant he'd have done a better job in those situations, but it's not easy to tell whether he'd have conceded other chances through poorer positioning than Jackson.

I thought he looked better than Macdonald. For how big he is Macdonald gets beaten to a surprising number of headers, I though Jackson was much better in the air.

Must admit I didn't immediately have Jackson at fault for second goal, will have to watch it back... And first goal I couldn't really see who was at fault, but Hecky seemed more annoyed at whoever should have been marking Gayle.

Jackson is a leader. He is the next Alfie Mawson.

First goal Roberts lost Gayle. Second goal we had defensive cover and Davies charged out. Be very harsh to blame Jackson for either goal.

Defo at fault for second, Was always first to ball but stopped when he saw Davies coming out

Played well as did the whole back 4. Bree back from injury, Jackson first start & Yiadom out of natural position all playing well is a positive for me.

Davies was definitely at fault for the second. There was no way Gayle would've took the shot on from there if Davies was on his line as the ball was going away from goal, he would've had to turn inside & face Jackson one on one.

Would need to see the first again
