    Result? 0-0 stalemate.
Glad we don't have to spend the GDP of a country on 1 players wage to entertain. Give me cheap players in the middle of the 2nd division anytime.

    Edit - £620 million

I would totally agree with you if I had just watched a game without any passion.

Fortunately, both sides wanted the win and despite it being 0-0 and a fairly average game, I do reckon most players on that pitch did want to be out there trying their hardest for their club. Hard to say about some Premier League games though!

"Fairly average game". Majority of these hyped up Premiership fixtures where half a billion pounds has been spent and thousands of fans money has been spent are average games.
My point is a game of football doesn't need vast amounts of money to be a great sporting event. It seriously needs something done about it. Bee in my bonnet now.

Our cricket club recently held a sporting evening which included an auction of various donated prizes. One of them was a pair of tickets for last night's match between Liverpool and Man U. The tickets were sold for £200. A couple of days later the lad who bought them came to pay and pick them up, and he was literally shaking with excitement about the match, even though it was still 10 days away. He told us his budget for the tickets was £800, and he would have outbid anyone else until the price got to that figure.

While ever there are people prepared to pay £400 per person to watch a football match, together with subscribing to Sky for over £100 per month, the spiral of wages will continue unabated. I'm gobsmacked by it. Utterly gobsmacked.

Put some honey in a jar and put the bonnet next to it, or you could try a nice bunch of flowers.
