Not sure how many of you are in to gambling on the NFL in particular but theres a reight bet with huge value for the Super Bowl. So far there has been 4 games with my own team with a 3-1 record which has made them 2nd favourites behind the New England Patriots. Both teams are in the AFC. Now the value bet is in the NFC with the Philadelphia Eagles. They are one of the only unbeaten teams in the NFL with a 3-0 record. The absolutely hammered the 2nd favourite Steelers last week 34-3. In 3 games they have only conceded 27 points, in addition have one of the best offensive lines in the game, so good in fact that they haven't allowed a sack of their rookie Quarterback in 3 games. The NFC is looking like an easier route this year so I'm suggesting you lump on the Eagles to win the SuperBowl. This is where it gets interesting because they are currently still massive odds at 20/1+ in the betting. They are probably playing better than any other team in the entire NFL at the moment, so get a 10er on them at least. You'll definitely get a good run for your money.
Good value but not sure if I'd trust Wentz to play like he has for another 15-16 games. It will probably be the bloody Patriots. Again.
By the look of your avatar, i presume you may be one of their offensive guards. Anyway, from one bet over the weekend - Found to win the Arc (courtesy of my horse racing obsessed mate who was told to supply a winner on my birthday), I have betfair funds to lose. 22/1. I'm on. Though I'm a Packer (cos I saw them win in knee deep snow once) and son is a Dolphin (cos he loves Florida).
I watched the full game last week, and Wentz looked cool and collected, in fact looked like a vet more than a rookie. I'm a Steeler and watch every game, I'm daft enough to pay £130 a year for the Game Pass. We've a top team, especially on offence this year, but we couldn't get near to the Eagles last week. Had a look at the odds this morning, thinking they'd be 5/1 like we are, only to find them at 20/1 on Skybet and 25/1 on the exchanges. Thats a ******* great bit of value all told. They've looked the most impressive so far.
Mmm. I think they will probably win the NFC East but its easily the weakest division - look at how the Giants got taken to the cleaners by Vikings last night. I like Wentz and he was excellent in NCAA but I reckon they'll be out in the playoffs as soon as they play one of the really top teams.
Thats the point mate, they have. The Steelers have probably the best offence in the entire league, but they demolished us. Lets see what happens at the end of the season but for 10 quid to win 200 you'll get proper value.
I've been an Eagles fan since 1981 so, much as I wish your prediction to come true, I think the 20/1 price is about right for us. Wentz has played brilliantly so far, but he's accumulating footage which defensive coaches will study to find specific weaknesses, which they can game plan for. Also, we have a relatively weak depth at WR and are heavily reliant on Sproles at running back, given that fragility of Mathews and the inexperience of Smallwood and Barner. Ultimately, I think at best we'll get 1 win in the play-offs, but will then get found out by some of the better NFC teams who will have hit their stride by then (lots of inconsistency at the moment, but still early days). The big improvement has been defensively, thanks to the recruitment of Jim Schwartz as DC, which has helped to keep the pressure off Wentz so far. Eventually we're going to be behind in a game and needing him to air it out more as we chase it, which is not something he's really had to do yet. He's a great talent, for sure, but it would be a miracle for this squad to get to the Superbowl this season. Would love it to happen though.
I know you're a Philly fan mate, I noticed your shirt on Facebook last week. As in any sport, injuries can play a part. I've watched about 10 games so far this season and by far the Eagles have been the most impressive. We've demolished all before us so far but we got absolutely nothing from you lot last week. It was a destruction of what is probably the best offence in the NFL. Maybe we weren't at the races but I was impressed across all aspects of the game. Considering we are second favourites at 5/1, then I'm pretty certain that the Eagles are great value at 20/1. When you look at some of the other Teams with lower odds I can guarantee that the Eagles will be better than the vast majority that are in that list. I expected the Panthers to be strong but they look awful considering the players in key positions they have. best of the rest in the NFC are Seahawks, and Vikings. Can't believe the Rams are 3 and 1 when they are dross. Like I said the NFC is the easier route.
HAHAHAHAHAHA I think you must be on drugs if you think the Eagles will win the Superbowl. NFC East is the worst division in the NFL. and i know i watch it every week. Vikings are a good defensive team and even with out Pieterson will run away with there division.
To be fair mate, they lost after a late game fumble when they had the game won. They'd come back after a really poor 1st quarter to be leading. It happens, I'm still not opposed to them doing well. Steelers have beaten everyone in front of us, with ease apart from Philly.
Any team that has aspirations of winning the Superbowl generally doesn't lose to Detroit (I say this through gritted teeth as a Lions fan), although I'm sure there are exceptions.
