What's the biggest crowd you've stood/sat in at Oakwell: This is the biggest for me, 32,551. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dXPpnGsNREw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Man City (33,792) was just before l started watching. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HfWH26-r6zg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I was at the Barnsley v Leicester FA Cup 6th round cup replay on a Wednesday afternoon in 1961 (we didn't get floodlights until the following year), when around 39,700 were inside the ground and an estimated 10,000 locked out. Replays in those days were held only a few days after the original game, so there was no time to sell tickets. We lost 2-1 after extra time. I was also at the sell-out all-ticket 5th round match v Man Utd (Charlton, Best, Law etc.) in 1964, when only 38,000 were allowed in. We were hammered, not surprisingly. 4-0. We also had a 30,000+ crowd in the 3rd round v Everton in 1963, when we played the game on rolled snow - it had been postponed at least twice because of persistent sub-zero temperatures. We lost that 3-0. Everton went on to become 1st Division champions that season.

Mine was barnsley v man city we won 2-1 john Curtis and crag highest scored in front of 22,650 man city sold out the north stand and the rest were reds..... we went on to lose to ipswich town that year in the play off final
The Everton match is mine. Absolute daylight robbery. Everton didn't remotely deserve to win, but Neville Southall did.
The Leicester game for me, had to threaten to go on strike at school on the Weds afternoon before they gave us it off. Three or four years earlier sat halfway up the slope to where the Metrodome is now to get a feeling of the Forest 5th round tie. Record number of tickets sold, over 42000, but attendance came in at 38/39 thousand.
Stood in both those crowds if memory serves me right nev Southall was getting a load of stick from us due to his wife playing away and it been the headline in the news of the world. .. the chants of get you wife out for the lads ran all around the ponty...needless to say he had a blinder and kept us out big time
I was in that lot. Left Barnsley college early. Got in ground and could not see a thing for 15 min. Then managed to push through crowd to middle. Biggest crowd was when I was around Ten , father took me to oakwell to watch Nottingham Forest . Crowd was maximum and I believe round 46000. Could not move or see anything. That would be around1950
