Came out of Chennells at about 8ish and stood on corner outside Corner Pin with 2 mates deciding where next to go. Group of Knob heads in Chambers doorway wearing Leeds shirts singing and gesturing to us. 'If you hate Leeds United have a go' and 'Barnsley where are you' I just laughed it off and we continued to the next pub. Just wondering this morning if they got their comeuppence. Not a trouble mongerer but in cases like this you just couldn't help but raise a smile if they got more than what they bargained for. Where's the so-called 5-0 when you need them eh?

Nah, if it was 'hooligany' I would have accepted their challenge and gone across to them. I'm a much better person than that. As for beating up kids and such, hope there's nothing in that, but it was probably the same ones who beat-up those poor helpless Millwall fans at Wembley

surely it was only banter mate. Had BFC beat Leeds would you not expect BFC fans to be a bit cocky about it?

On Friday night I took a bit of stick from a couple of Dundee fans when they noticed my DUFC jacket. Giving it to me large about being **** and down in a league below them. You have just to laugh it off.

As long as no violence is involved then no real harm done. Only feelings are hurt.

There always has to be 1 and in this case it was a group. Always the same when backed up with a few mates.

And I feel your pain mate. Getting stick on a regular basis is not easy although TBH we (Barnsley) have had a good run for the past 10 months with lots to be happy and proud about. Promotion and a Trophy win. Now remind me again about what Leeds have achieved lately.

True, to be fair to my Blunts mates though they're down to earth types and have taken plenty of stick from me.

That's a load of rubbish. The stewards/police for some reason let hundreds of Leeds fans walk through the 'away' car park and it kicked off but it was our lads and their lads and was mostly handbags at 5 paces - I saw most of it if not all of it from our coach and there were no kids or disabled folk involved

i wouldn't have expected Barnsley fans to be doing it in Leeds though. Thing is those would have probably been from Barnsley as well. Somehow they get pleasure over their home town club being beaten by a club from a city they have no connection to!

You could be right there, although I don't think there is too many leeds fans in Barnsley (although leeds like to think they is) not in comparison to donny and Rotherham. Alway get a few who still support em from the glory days of the 70s Problem is barnsley borders wakefield which probley 70% support leeds the rest are made up of barnsley, man u,Liverpool and who ever else. Where ever they were from, if you act like that your going to get bother people who have no interest in football but just fancy a scrap will take you up on it.

They tend to be found in chennells most saturday afternoons.
Right collection of **** nuggets. Like pack mentality as well. Not very good on their own.
Been in a few times when its been busy pre match and leeds have been early kick off. They got told to be quiet in a very polite manner.
Coincidently chennells is as close as they ever get to bellebd road.

Spot on that. When you have a professional club in the town where you're from and where you live, they should be the club you support.

It's ok people jumping on the back of bigger or more successful clubs, but Barnsley could be further up hie pecking order if more local fans didn't go to Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds.

I live in West Yorkshire and Barnsley is still my closest team, as it is for all the leeds fans that live around me.

They use the South v West Yorkshire thing as an excuse, but in reality all they want to do is willy wave about crowds, because it's all they've got.

When you see a reds fan in a football shirt on a Saturday it's normally at the match . In the case of Leeds, Manchester, and Liverpool that live locally, their shirts are normally seen in Asda whilst their match is on.

It's like treachery and they used to hang 'em for it . It's a personality disorder that makes them want to be popular , therefore they follow the so called 'big teams' that are supposedly more likely to win because that's easy to support . There's a group of plastic Man Utd fans in my local and they're personalities are all the bloody same like inbred robots . It's a bit like wanting to be best mate to the **** of the school ...you know he's a total w****r , but he makes you look good .

Always bin same in Barnsley , travelling to oakwell from tarn early seventies and the railway/ bus station were full of fans gonna Leeds or Sheffield , fans from same tarn goading each other on opposite platforms you couldn't make it up.
Yorkshire post used to post names and addresses of Leeds fans at courts from home and away games and there was always a largish contingent from Barnsley, in fact there was one game in particular Bournemouth v Leeds away think abart early eighties and the vast majority printed were from in or around Barnsley.

Yeah, I know quite a few of them in town and when they're on their own, they keep their heads down and sheepishly slink about, however, when they 'bunch' up, they give it large and are quite nasty with it. After their little show of bravado, they disappear and lay low for months on end......strange strange behaviour.
