A friend of mine, who is well in at the club, told me yesterday that the club had been told by the FA that we'd never host another international game (at any level) at Oakwell again, after the debacle of the last staging.

    Anyone else heard this?

Point taken, but on an aside, it was the clubs seemingly increasing inability to effectively co-ordinate and host matchdays that we were talking about, so that surely needs addressing.

It can't be true. The fa had total control and organised everything from stewarding to ordering bottles of diet coke remember. Well that was the excuse used to the debacle

I've only been able to go to two matches this season, due to work and family commitments, those being the Northampton Town match, and the Aston Villa match. The football aside, the actual matchday experiences have been an absolute nightmare in all honesty. When it comes to customer service, sales, retail, matchday experience, we try our best, I'm not knocking the club for their efforts, but what I am knocking them for is their either inability or stubbornness to emerge forth from the dark ages - we seem to be doing stuff at the club (in the shop, box office etc) that we've been doing for the past 20 years.

To be honest, as much as I doubt it is true it really wouldn't surprise me. They ran out of everything before kick off if I remember correctly.

I didn't go, so won't comment - just regurgitating what I've heard and been told. Apparently, the New York Stadium is first in the pecking order for any future games.

I sat in the North stand that night and it was an absolute disgrace whoever was running the show! Got into the ground 10 minutes prior to kick off and they didn't even have any soft drinks left for sale - People were going ballistic with the catering staff behind the counters! I believe the club blamed the FA but given BFC's past history on creating a 'match day experience' it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were the ones running the show that night!

I sat in the East and it was the same - ended up having to have a cup of tap water.

They often run out of lager at home matches.

Which is an accomplishment in itself given how slowly they serve it.

    The service is abominable.

I've seen posts on here where people cannot understand why supporters disappear from their seats 5 minutes before half time.

The explanation is that you won't get any refreshments and be able to consume them unless you do this.

To be honest, I noticed they'd got a lot more pumps on the go on Tuesday night - still, we went up a minute before half time, and we got served about 30 seconds before the players were coming out for the second half. A slight improvement from last season. The Colchester match at home, a friend and me actually went up for a beer, about 10 minutes before HT. It was FIVE minutes into the second half when we finally got served - they had ONE girl serving beer, it was laughable.

No so sure about that. Didn't the FA essentially hire Oakwell off the club and insist on running everything themselves? To the point where club staff had to buy their own tickets for the game.

Whilst what you're saying might possibly be true, it cannot be the case Shirley that the FA would bring in all their own stock to sell.

In fact they didn't. What little we had left was flogged off and that was it.

Someone cocked up on the catering front. Either the FA or us.

It's not hard to imagine it was us, given that we do it every home game.

Gally - The catering situation has been raised on here numerous times but nothing seems to be getting done about it! Are the catering firm just generally not arsed what paying customers think about their products, service etc.? It's unacceptable that people going to queue for food /drinks 5 minutes before half time are not getting served until the 2nd half commences!

I'm not sure why they find it so hard to get it right. We complained about Lindley's for a long time. The Trust even had meetings with them where they promised all sorts and delivered nothing. CGC we're going to come in and sort it out and it seems worse than ever.

At the last fan engagement forum Linton asked the new CGC catering manager to sort out the problems that had been raised. Doesn't sound like he's done much about it so far but it's only been a couple of games.

I think Sheriff posted on Facebook on Tuesday evening that he couldn't get a coffee in the East Stand 15 mins prior to kick off because the water wasn't ready.

I don't think it helps when the young 'ens serving haven't go the slightest bit of "go" in them, they just float around as if they're working in some quiet country pub on a Sunday afternoon.

The club are missing a big opportunity income-wise as they are a lot of people who might spend at least a fiver each on food and drink who don't bother simply because the service is so bad.
