I just hope its someone who will have no fear of stripping away 'dead wood' and stop believing from the pundits who is best, as we have have for at least 20 years.

Give us someone with a pair of balls..... in the Brian Clough or Alex Ferguson mould .... and yes I know I despise Man Utd , but there is no denying what a fantastic manager Alex Ferguson was.

Better not be Redknapp, I can imagine him being up for a couple of years

I think Glynn Hodges and Gazza are both out of work. I'm not, but I'd give it a bash if the FA approached me. Red Rain?

If we want an Englishman then it's Dyche for me.

I keep seeing Howe's name mentioned but not Dyche.

In terms of achievements Dyche has won more promotions on a much lower budget.

When Howe went to Burnley he failed miserably.

Dyche has also shown he can cope with a big ego & big name player in how well he got Joey Barton to play last season.

But I don't think any Englishman stands out. I thought Sam was about the best option of a pretty poor set of options.

Ideally I'd want Klopp or Pep but neither of them would be daft enough to take it.

I said this months ago but for me theres one man who stands head and shoulders above the rest, the best manager in the PL and someone who has worked with a lot of our young players... Pochettino. He would bring an attractive, high tempo, pressing style of football and is someone who understands English football, unlike Sven or Capello.

I think Dyche is a good shout to be fair. Whoever it is I just hope he isn't a "yes" man

I think anyone in their right mind would have him, but would he want to? The foundations he has at Spurs really could lead to something special in the coming years. Would he risk all those accolades for the temptation of mediocre international football? I wouldn't if i were him.

Thing is, its the England job. Biggest job in football and if you managed to make a success your stock would be unprecedentedly high, plus you'd be a hero. I know he isnt English and it may not appeal to him as much as one of us but its still a huge draw.

I would even take putting up with Southgate til the summer to get him, and the thought of that guy taking charge of our national team even for 1 game both infuriates and petrifies me in equal measure.

I think realistically we'd have better chance of getting him over Klopp and Pep ( 2 names I'd love ) so I'd be extremely happy if we did get him in charge. be nice for FA to hire someone like him, show real intent for us fans who known years of disappointment I suppose

If Southgate doesn't keep the job then I will be surprised.

Steve Bruce? I'm not a fan of his, but he was interviewed for the job, whilst still with Hull, earlier this Summer. Now he's available, it might be tempting for the FA to move for him.

We all know that whatever happens, the FA wont appoint the right man. They couldnt find their arse's with both hands.

Got a sneaky feeling they'll go for LVG... Kane at LWB is the answer to all our problems.

I'd like to see Guus Hiddink for a couple of years. Hopefully in the meantime one of Dyche, Howe, Pardew, Southgate etc can prove themselves ready to take on the job after Hiddink

It'll be Southgate as interim and then probably Steve Bruce or someone like him. Pochettino won't leave Spurs at the moment, with the new stadium they could be massive soon. Unless it was a Pep/Klopp figure, I'd want an English manager, we are playing international football after all. I couldn't care less to be honest, all lingering enthusiasm about the national side was lost during the shamblic European Championships. Glenn Hoddle would still be ok for me... despite the obvious issues surrounding such an appointment.
