The last 2 matches have shown just how much these two better each others games. Aidy uses his small stature & pace to overlap or run at defenders with the ball which opens up the space for Hammill to work his magic. People slagging Adam off need to realize this. I'm not saying Kpekawa won't be a good player for us but with his build I just can't see him emulating the fantastic work of White which will affect Hammill's performances. I do hope it does work out with Cole, as we had brilliant back up already in the camp before an atrocious misjudgement in the summer.
Right we all liked Williams and we all know that it was probably the wrong decision to let him go but harping on about it won't bring him back so can we just leave that one where it lies its just getting a bit tedious, lets not be comparing all our players to our old players let's just focus on those that play for us now
Agree with the majority of the post but think "atrocious misjudgement" is bit far. From what I gather Williams wanted guaranteed starts and more money. We couldn't offer the former and subsequently decided not to offer the latter. Is he even starting at MK dons? Sent from my Kestrel using Tapatalk
What I don't understand about Williams is being understudy to White guarantees you 20 + games a season anyway.
George wasn't wanted simple as that. He is a right back so when the club signed Yiadom as back up to Bree what message was George supposed to take from that other than he wasn't wanted. I'm sure he'd love to come back as an emergency loan as LB but it's never going to happen.
Not the way I see it. George was offered a contract, he wanted more money and a starting place. We said we can't offer that and withdrew the offer. No reason to have a go at George or the club for me. Sent from my Kestrel using Tapatalk
Are you a new poster? I'm certainly not having a go at anyone just stating facts. You are naively implying that being offered a contract means a player is wanted: it does not.
Not that new no. But don't see why that is relevant? And I wasn't suggesting you were having a go, but more referring to the original post. And apologies for being naive. Care to explain why we offered on this occasion then? And not sure compensation comes into it when we subsequently withdrew the offer. Sent from my Kestrel using Tapatalk
If you were posting last season then you would understand the question. League rules mean that the minimum contract is offered then compensation is payable by the purchasing club. Being offered "the minimum contract" would suggest the club doesn't want the player but does require compensation. I posted at the end of last season that, in my opinion, the club reconsidered their position in recognition of George's significant contribution; in other words he was free to leave which he did.
Ah I forgot this rule is only known on the bbs. I was posting last season. And I understand the rule. If we were bothered about compensation we wouldn't have withdrawn the contract. Something i have just stated. Therefore the reason we probably withdrew the offer was as a gesture of goodwill to George and to speed up his transfer. Doesn't mean we didn't want him. That's fair enough. But it's also a different argument you're now giving. Sent from my Kestrel using Tapatalk
To be fair not really sure it matters, Observer knows more about the situation than the rest of us do and he's not our player anymore
Yep think you're right. Would've liked George to stay but didn't work out. Like I stated before, don't think anyone is to blame. Sent from my Kestrel using Tapatalk
Exactly think we would have all loved him to stay, I've still got his WSB sticker on my seat, but Hecky and the club made the decision for whatever reasons and George left for his own reasons we have to except that and I wish him all the luck in the world as long as he's not playing against us
