Anybody know what was going on before the match in front of the East Stand?

He seemed to be doing a fitness test, but was never named on the bench and apart from a very young lad giving him some instructions nobody seemed to monitor him or his results. The physios were busy warming up the match day squad.

After he had run himself into the ground he trotted off down the tunnel.

    Couldn't work it out?

Cue an endless number of posts including the terms: "pies", "Dale Jennings" and "Moncur's mate"

Im guessing they had fitness worries about someone else in the squad and if they didnt make it through the warm up Lee would have been in. Once that decision was made they probably just got Lee to do a bit of running etc... to justify him being there.

We always have a 19th man in case of injury to match squad in the warm up.

Yeah that makes sense, but Lee was running sprints to the half way line and back. Certainly not a warm up in preparation to play in the match and more of a test to see if he was fit.

Just thought it was strange that he wasn't even in the squad, but seemed to be doing a fitness test.

Almost looked like it was a punishment, maybe for being unfit?

Not trying to start rumours, just wondered if anyone knew anything about it.

Correct but whenever I go to games I tend to see them less at home games than away games because of course the whole squad will be nearby at home games whereas they'll take 19 or 20 players to away games and leave the rest at home. Like at Preston I saw Janko warming up with the subs at half time even though he wasn't on the bench, but whenever I see subs warm up at half time at home games there's never more than seven

A very young lad? That was Nathan winder, he's 33 and the head of sports science. Lee didn't seem to be preparing for a game did he, it was more like an extra training session solely for him. Winder had his stop watch out and was timing him 'sprinting' from goal line to half way and back. I only hope that Elliot Lee wasn't trying because if he was then something is seriously wrong with his fitness

He was just doing an intensive fitness session before a game.

It's not something you normally see a home team do but anyone that goes away will be used to it. Sometimes Nathan Winder can be out right until the players comes out with a player or two.

Derby had a couple of players going through one earlier this season. Olsson and someone else.

Those players that didn't play (those on the bench ) will normally go through similar after the game. Sometimes you will see players just start it straight after the game finishes and the fans have left the stadium.

Think the concerns were over Watkins, he was at Oakwell on Sunday for treatment. We were at Oakwell as daughter was playing for Barnsley Ladies.

Probably explains his limited action these last couple of games

Yep, probably Hecky just wanting him to feel a part of things even though not on the bench. Like you say, I don't normally notice an extra man at home games.
