If they win i think they will win it. As one ahead of somerset so be down to bonus points. Looked at weather 4 decent days in London. Whereas wed and thurs showers in taunton.

It's a very complicated situation because we want Somerset to win to mean Middlesex don't play for a draw, but not win with too many bonus points so that we don't have to get full bps

Whatever happens the lads should need no motivation after the England players farce. Finn gets to play for them, yet Bairstow and Root don't get to play for us

And Rashid is tired and wants a rest rather than be involved in the most vital game of the season.

To be fair he's released a statement saying a family member is seriously ill in hospital so he's no in the right frame of mind to play

    I did not know that.

I read of him wanting a rest a few days ago and was not aware this was the reason.

Have a look on the Yorkshire v Middlesex thread from.a day or so ago and see if anything was mentioned about his mum.

That was the last i read about Yorkshire.

Stop trying to be a smart arse all the time.

This guy's a top top class international cricketer. He loves playing cricket.

    Let him judge what's best.

The official Yorkshire CCC website said he wanted to be rested ahead of the winter international schedule. A family member being ill wasn't mentioned so people at that time were right to have a go at him for pulling out of the biggest match of the season. If you wish to blame anyone blame Yorkshire CCC for not telling the story properly, thus Adil got a lot of abuse that he didn't deserve.

I'm blameing people that don't use there brains Dreamboy.

People have been so quick to jump on him.

Like I say above, he's a top class cricketer. Let him judge what's best.

Adil of all the Yorkshire players NEEDS to be mentally right. If he isn't then me or you could bowl for Yorkshire or England.

Adil been from the family and upbringing he's from will I'd imagine more protected than most. It's just the way it goes. He might have wanted to keep things private but its come out. His family aren't normally shown on TV or anything from what I can see.

Good start so far. Would have been better without two dropped catches in three balls.

Absolutely outstanding performance so far from Ryan Sidebottom.
Building pressure for other bowlers to exploit.

To be fair Adil has only come out and said that in response to the stick he got for his original statement which was ..... "I need a rest".

    So there was no disrespect.

Hope his Mum gets better, and I hope too he gets himself in the right frame of mind for another long winter of carrying drinks. Cos historically, that's what England use Adil Rashid for on Winter Tours.

Lyth and Rafiq should have both taken a catch. Lyth was a sitter of a drop, Rafiq the ball came at him much quicker but he couldn't hold onto it. Not seen the Ballance one.
