Just seen that. Surprised that he hasn't even made the bench.

Premier League stock piling of players continues unabated. Cue a loan move back to the Champ in Jan.

It was always going to be a big ask for someone with only really League1 experience to jump straight into a Prem first team.

What a waste. Money aside he needs first team football to carry on his development.

I wouldn't read much into it. Ideally managers don't want to chuck a young lad with no premiership experience straight into the first 11 unless there's an injury crisis. I'm sure he'll get his chance

I can see it now Lee Jay buzzing no way we would directly sell to Brizzie but now he has the chance to get him indirectly via Swansea ,

If he's not involved by January, it is nailed on that he will be off to either Bristol City, or Leeds United. Bristol would be easier for him from Swansea. This might be a warning for any of the other players who don't sign a new contract with us. Moving to the Premiership - backwards, or forwards move in career terms?

Exactly. Two games into his Swansea career and we've already started with the usual comments. He's played less than half a dozen games in the Championship, they're hardly going to throw him straight in, at the top level, unless there's injuries/suspensions. He'll get his chance.

Swansea City is a forward move for him compared to us in every aspect you can think of crowds, salary, level of play and anything else. Stones wasn't put in the Everton team straight away. He's got to get used to new training techniques, new level of play, settle in a new area etc. He will be at the very least on the bench before long. No way will he be loaned out to the championship.

Did we? I didnt think McDonald did much wrong and neither goal had anything to do with our Centre backs

I thought we missed G Williams more - he would have stood in for Aidy a lot better than Cole did - that was the big hole in our defence in my view

I thought Cole struggled as well when he came on.... Early days though!

Well I thought McDonald looked completely out of his depth at this present time. Not sure how good this Jackson is but if he's not upto it yet either, its certainly going to be a problem area for us up to january.

Macdonald's been very good considering the step-up. Not out of his depth in the slightest. Didn't have his best game on Saturday and needs to improve his decision making with the ball but in general he's been solid. Against Preston he was outstanding; didn't miss a thing.

He's obviously not as good as Alfie Mawson, but he wouldn't have signed for us if he was, but on early evidence we've found a good player and I'm sure he can become as good as Roberts. In the four games he's played we've only concede 3 goals and none of them were caused by an error from him, so if he is out of his depth, he's doing very well at pretending he isn't!

At the end of the day a defender's job is to keep out goals, he's helped do that well. He doesn't do anything fancy but I want out midfielders and strikers to do that, not central defenders

Saturday was Angus' 4th professional league game and for mine he's done great overall.

Clearly he's got things to learn but let's remember somebody else's 4th league game. It was a 5-1 defeat at Brighton, he was booked and was subbed after 55 minutes. He looked more out of his depth than Angus has done. His name is John Stones.

Remember also that Alfie Mawson's career effectively began in non-league with Welling.
