Have come in the 2nd half if my maths is correct. Proof that we're simply fitter than any other team in this division. Tire them out then send on fresh legs to finish them off. Sent from my phone using my hands
Last night Hecky beat Zenga in the subs game. We were dead on our feet when our double susbstitution came and got a second wind. Wolves didn't allow their players to do the same. We didn't look fitter around the 60th minute though, but the players we bring on work just as hard as the players they're replacing which isn't the same at every other club.
Something that few managers, few fans and even fewer FA bods understand... ...football is a team game. If a manager and club get it right and sign and manage a bunch of good players I would back them every time over teams with one or two 'star players'. Barnsley in the promotion to the Prem season and the Premiership year itself did not exactly have world beaters but good solid players who gave their all for the club. They were a little unlucky (Willard) to get relegated after one season but it shows that strength in depth is the key. That is what we have now. No 'prima donnas' signed who take their bat home if they don't get picked to start as they know at some point in the match or season they will have their turn and are part of the 'bigger picture'. 'Big' clubs, with the obvious exceptions, with a couple of stars and then journeymen making up the numbers, only have to have a couple of injurys and/or suspensions and they are stuffed. I firmly believe this season's start is not a 'flash in the pan' Hecky has a system. Leicester, albeit with Vardy as a 'Talisman' defied all the odds last season and won the title against teams with 'superstars' on superstar wages. Barnsley, playing this squad system, can and should, stay the course during the long season. I expect other fancied teams to fall by the wayside as they do not seem to have the depth, organisation and team spirit to sustain the full season without periods where they struggle. Given our squad and their bloody-minded attitude when it comes to winning, not to mention an outstanding motivational coach, I see no reason why that need happen at Oakwell especially with the extra motivation they get from the fans right now. Then again, I know f*ck all about football. COYR!!
