We are in danger of going all Wednesday on here.

We've had a great start, enjoy it while it lasts, but don't gloat. It can end just as soon as it started, we are only one game away from a defeat.
I'd hate this to be a reversal of last season.

Sorry but we've watched that much **** in this league when we were last here, that I'm going to milk it while it last

    I respect your cautious approach

but TBH I think we will only grow and get better. Of course the bubble will burst eventually, as they all do. But I believe the players have a strength of character to bounce right back again. The other warm thought is that we have not spent Mega Bucks on the entire squad, but have a coaching staff that seems to get great deal from them. If one or two move on in January I believe our bank balance at presentwill see us through.... that and the players coming through in development. Great time to be a BFC supporter.

Re: I respect your cautious approach

We got promoted through the playoffs after one of the best half-seasons I can remember, we're third in the table after seven games (keeping pace with Newcastle and their untold wealth), our goal difference is through the roof, we've scored more goals than anyone else by a remarkable 11 different players and we've just smashed Wolves 4-0 away.

I don't see any Wednesday-style entitlement on here. I just see a group of exuberant fans wondering how long this dream can last

We have actually lost 2 championship and 1 cup game this season: we bounced back. I never make predictions because i believe you are only as good as your last game. However after being short-changed over the last few years i say lets enjoy the moment, particularly as this has a positive knock on effect.

You're way off with this post.

Admiring what we've achieved and being proud of our team isn't 'going all Wednesday'. We're not saying we're entitled to beat anyone, we haven't called ourselves massive, and we won't be getting on the backs of the players should we be 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go on Saturday.

We're in this together and proud of Hecky and them Reds. Not Wednesday like in the slightest.

We've watched years of ***** with players not fit to wear the shirt, so we are going to milk this period of ten months for all it is worth and enjoy it for a change. Lets not knock the feel good factor.

    I'm not knocking it.
I was as daft as a brush last night and couldn't stop watching as many highlights as I could find. Even my wife, who hates football, was chuffed to bits for me, and that really does take some doing.
I've watched an awful lot of dross in the last few years so I'm on this bandwagon for as long as it lasts. BUT, you don't know what awaits round the next bend, that's all.

I don't see why the run can't continue, teams just cannot cope with the high intensity play and the pace, we're just used to having players who pass backwards and sideways and don't really want the ball. Good teams play like we are doing now.

What worries me more is that other teams with money will be looking at our squad, realise how good a lot of them and our team will be ripped apart in the space of a transfer window.

All I see is our fans here enjoying the recent success and adulation of others and entertaining successful football. I haven't seen any presumptions expectations of winning because we are a big club and of patronising other teams.

I'd say the popular use of #TeamslikeBarnsley reflects that fans are exited and confident as a 'lesser' club. We are quite a way off being cocky. Talk of promotion could be curtailed to be honest. Let's see. Fingers crossed of course.

'Going all Wednesday' is saying things like, 'we should be beating the likes of' and 'we shouldn't be losing players to the likes of.

Basically over using the term 'the likes of'.

Enjoying a good start to the season isn't really becoming all Wednesday.

I'm enjoying it at the minute because I know it will eventually come to an end.

To be 'Wednesday' - To be arrogantly over-confident based on massive over-estimation of self-importance.

To be 'Barnsley' - To enjoy and admire a hard-working team playing attractive attacking football.

Are you sure? There's some in the East Stand that aren't usually on the same wavelength.

We are going to get setbacks no doubt about it...Although we've well deserved all the wins , we've given a chance or two away early on in games but got away with it , that won't always be the case ....however the difference between this time in the Championship and last is we only had a sprinkling of goalscorers and only an odd player capable of brilliance before , now we have a team full , and early signs suggest a bench full too.

My fear is our lack of depth and experience at the back. If there's an injury or suspension, we can only bring a relative novice in. The way things are going, we'll outscore whatever they concede though.

They'll be gripes and moans and frustrations but nothing like what Wolves and Wednesday dish out when it's 0-0 just after half time. Wolves were dominating for a spell last night at 0-0 and their fans were being miserable.

Providing the players continue to put the effort in they won't receive the same treatment.

True, but you can't get much more of a novice than Macdonald, and he seems to have done OK!
