I wouldn't. Purely because I think that was the problem last time we were in this league. We got stuck in the same rut, treading water for 7 years, which all stemmed from the first year when we didn't adequately strengthen our squad, and then went through several cycles of new players and managers, culminating in us having a larger wage bill than we'd have liked, and a squad full of serial losers.

If we can have a solid season, say 14th upwards, it builds the foundations for us to become an established Championship side who eventually could challenge the top 6.

Not particularly lucky...those players were scouted and coached to improve the squad, just as were our summer recruits and if needs be the same scenario in the next window. For the first time in eons we have in place a scouting and coaching system that works.

FFS everyone just enjoy the here and now.

Don't agree with this. If our ambition is to come 21st in a 24 team league we're doing it wrong. This has been our problem for years. Turning up away at teams like Reading and Cardiff playing for the one point because we know it's what we need to stay 21st, then either getting the one point (rarely away from home it must be said) or losing 1-0. Much rather us turn up to try to win, even if it means we have the odd game where we get battered for it.

Thats not what I said and I will be really quite disappointed if we finish 20th

There is a middle ground between expecting relegation and expecting promotion

I'd take a top 6 if offered now but I do think minimum target for us is mid table and top 6 is definitely a possibility even if its not a likely final position. I do think there is more chance we will be top 6 than bottom 3 but I will be happy with top 12.

I'm happy to enjoy the ride whilst it lasts, as I haven't the foggiest what's going to happen in the future.

I've been 'outed' as the happiest of clappers.

I'd be satisfied with any non-relegation position. I'd be happy with a lot more.

Now is no time for glum and despondency. Every club will face its challenges in every transfer window, some more than others. I am 100% certain the club are fully aware of all possibilities and everything they can control, they are doing. Many were doom mongering when Brownhill left.......George Williams left.......Fletcher didn't arrive.......Isgrove didn't arrive.......Mawson left...... A quick glance at the Championship table shows that despite all that, we are third with 4 wins from 6 games. In football, as a fan you should just enjoy the moment and not stress yourself out worrying about what might or might not happen in 4 months time.

Players do come and go. Remember Ashley Ward going for £4.5m? That money effectively paid for Dyer, Hignett, Shipperley and Sheron - 4 for the price of one. 18 months later we were at Wembley in a Play Off final.

For us? He played 24 times (and scored 12) out of 29 possible games

Really many games as sub and hit a purple patch in front of goal just before we sold him. Everyone seemed to think it was good businessatthe time

Armstrong has scored 1 goal why are we so suddenly reliant on him?
