So Leeds paid £3 million for Kemar Roofe. 23 year old with one good season under his belt at League Two level. 26 goals in 48 games in all competitions. 2 years left on his contract. Similar player to Moncur positionally.

If Moncur can hit 10 plus goals between now and January we could be in a position where he's in high demand. Any one of the top 6 clubs which may include Peterborough may feel he's the man who can get them out of League One. At 23 with 2.5 years left on his contract and a desire to keep him ourselves we could be looking at making at least £1 million on a player we've paid little wages on due to being out on loan. Its hard to say what will happen but I can see him being sold on by at least next summer.

Another genius move by the club?

He will come back to replace Hourihane when he leaves. With his goals, dead ball ability and passing I'm sure he could fill the void especially after 6 months of developing at another club renowned for young talent.

Do people really believe Moncur would and can replace Hourihane? Different types of midfielder

    He's nothing like Hourihane though.

And at Peterborough he's playing an advanced role with no defensive duties.

I said the same thing yesterday to my old man. If he goes there and scores a few goals they will want to buy him no question of that. If he didnt want to stay and fight for his place i would move him on for a tidy profit.

Agreed. It's not worked out for him at us yet but if it doesn't and he does leave quickly we will make an easy profit on him.

He's nothing like Hourihane 2015/16 or 2016/17, but he's not a million miles off Hourihane 2014/15. Hourihane is unrecognisable from the player who joined from Plymouth, down to his willingness to learn and adjust his game. I don't know if he has it in him, to change his game as he'd need to, in order to replace Hourihane. He's got bags of talent and there's no need to write him off just yet.

Hourihane was never an attacking midfielder at Plymouth. More similar game to what he plays now. Granted hes a much more all round midfielder now.

It was Wilsons tactics and the fact Conor set off like a house on fire than lead to him playing a more advance role.

Moncur is a number 10 and being at Peterborough he isn't going to learn the Conor role.

He's 2 months into a 3 year contract. It's too early to ditch him, in my opinion. An attritional circular argument with someone with seemingly infinite stamina is not going to change my mind. If Moncur wants to adapt his game, he can and will. I've no idea and nor do you if that's what he will do.

Moncour was not willing to stay and fight for his place in a championship team after just 5 games. No way on earth he will be willing to change his game from strolling about the edge of the area and scoring goals to grafting all over the pitch

But all I'm saying is Hecky wanted him to stay and learn and he chose to go to Peterborough.

He isn't going to learn how to play the BFC way at Peterborough that is a fact.

I think he will make a decent footballer but for him to get a game for us from January onwards he will have to replace one of:
    Conor
    Josh
    Sam Morsy
    Sam Winnall
    Marley
    AA

There's his problem in a nutshell , unless they are injured or we've flogged a couple of them then he aint going to play . Unless Peterborough have turned him into Messi .

Agree, think we've seen last of him in a reds shirt.

I don't think he'll kick another another ball for us. I also definitely don't think it's a genius move by the club. I think it's been a pretty poor situation all round. If he does have a stormer with Peterborough, i'm guessing Camp Moncur will have an ever bigger sense of entitlement to walk straight into the First XI. He might be getting bad advice from Papa Moncur, but either way it doesn't feel like he fits with what Hecky is building. I think we just got this one wrong.

I wonder if Jesus told him he had a divine right to immediately start every game of football?

If we can get our money back in January, I would say get shut and put it down to experience. We seem to be doing ok without him.

The posh chairman said they couldn't afford his wages which I imagine would rule out the majority of L1 clubs.
