In Whitey's big poll I said top 14, because I didn't want to commit us to being top half. I reckon we have a chance. The fact that we're so dangerous on the attack, that's not a form thing, that's the mark of a quality side. I think that the team will be disappointed if all they manage is to avoid relegation. There are some decent teams in this league, probably enough to keep us out of the playoffs, but I think we'll be a thorn in a lot of people's sides.
I don't want to get carried away. But I think Wolves will be a big test. If we can get something out of them away from home then I might start to think that we can get somewhere in this division..
I think a lot of it will depend on wether we can keep hold of our better players in the January transfer window....
Better to set your sights high and come a bit short than too low and achieve it. All we can do is go out to win every game and see where we end up, I believe we've got the spirit/fight/quality to beat any team in this league.
I thought similar end of last season , I thought if we keep bulk of squad well easily survive. Out of that squad we've lost. Fletcher,Isgrove,Brownhill,Mawson, Williams , We've replaced them and done fantastic ,seems the system is more important than individuals who can be replaced.
Agree - Wolves will be no pushover, hopefully an opportunity for the lads to prove themselves against a quality opposition. This has been a fantastic start to the season and it is wonderful that we have carried the momentum from the second half of last season. Always proud to be a Red and never more so than now, but realistically I will be more than happy with a strong showing this season that sees us well clear of a relegation scrap. The aim must be to re-affirm ourselves as a top 3rd Championship side, continue to build the squad and attendances under Hecky and then in the next 2-3/4 seasons strike for promotion!
38 points from safety like all other clubs at this stage. Momentum is a fantastic thing and we are confident and full of team spirit but there will be challenges ahead so let's just enjoy the ride.
I'd be happy with... top 10 finish and win the FA Cup, another 2 trips to Wembley.... Maybe not, getting bored with the place now.
