Yes he's a Barnsley lad But money talks and I fear premier league clubs will come calling very soon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Doubt it missen tbh. Hecky is a big part of what's going in at oakwell and he's of us and won't leave for a struggling pl club and he needs to be more proven for established ones so not for me tbh.
Hecky's doing a great job, however, he's part of a team and in my opinion he needs that team with him. The team won't go and neither will Hecky
Cellino will not look much further than Huddersfield imo. Hecky wouldn't entertain leeds I'm very confident of that.
The Premier League won't go for a Championship manager. Sean Dyche, Eddie Howe, Alex Neil, nobody would give them the time of day if they hadn't taken a team up. Perhaps a Championship team might go for him, but then I doubt there'd be anybody with enough clout to actually tempt him. He's going to be here for a long while.
I think Wolves might be a threat BUT it's different now I think. With our finance better off now, we're doing well and the team are as tight as Fergies purse strings, I feel confident he'll stay.
Nick Eaden said a couple of years ago 'there isn't enough Barnsley in Barnsley '.I think Pat took this in and realised that we were just a platform for most managers to move on or get sacked. The master stroke was getting more Barnsley lads involved that were happy living and breathing all things Barnsley and not wanting to jump ship at the first opportunity. He won't move old Hecky he's happy here and that means everything.
I got the same response when I suggested Bristol City might come in for LJ after the Bradford Away game, lo and behold LJ goes to Bristol City a couple of weeks later. Sent from my iPhone
Interesting point though. Hecky is the figurehead of a complex system that runs through the club. Yes, he's a talented lad, but can you just take him somewhere else and immediately expect the same results? I'd say not. Not in the time a chairman and fans might expect. He's part of the club philosophy and I think he'd say himself, that's not something that you can just transplant somewhere else. It depends how other clubs see us and how much they understand the system we have. And we're only just getting started with it. I don't think Hecky could go to Leeds and wave a magic wand, they're way too f*cked up for that.
