There will never be a better time to get the contracts sorted with, Connor, Sam, Josh and Marley. Lets get the business done, now !!!
make history with a club from a small town by been promotion contenders (ok im getting way too excited) or a bottom of the table/relegation contenders in the premier league maybe they are not all money whores and would like to be part of history and be club legends like the team from 1997?
Tbf I don't know if they are money whores as you put it but if a club with the stature of say Sunderland or Newcastle comes calling the money they can offer and the potential higher status I'd say it's a no brainier for a lad looking after his interests.imo
Improve their pay, get them to sign contract extensions, and give them all a trigger clause so that they can leave if they get higher division suitors. We can't really lose, and neither can they.
That's what I think! It's surely win win. Except for the buying club. Only thing is the buying club don't have to pay a fee they can pay the player higher wages and perhaps more clubs interested. But if a club really wants them, in premiership, they should know by now money is not an issue. They'll be multi millionaires either way.
That's right and the players agents know this and can command a bigger fee for themselves as well as their clients and the less clubs interested because of a transfer fee is detriment to them. So to allow their client to sign a contract allowing the club to gain a fee is not gonna happen .
But surely it's also about their client getting a signing on bonus at Barnsley, getting a years higher pay, and then still getting a move!
Hourihane is probably going to be worth around £10m at the end of the season. His agent will be speaking to clubs telling them that he's going to keep Conor as a free agent, and that he'll be expecting the clubs to pass some of the savings on to both himself and the player. It's up to Patrick Cryne to convince the Conor to sign a new contract on better terms for the rest of the year, and that he'll still be paid what he is worth by his new club.
If a club doesn't have to pay us a few million in transfer money it leaves a big wadge for a signing on fee and agents contributions ,which in turn benefits agent and client very well thank you.the years enhanced payment we would have made if he'd signed will be well compensated I'm sure. Not agreeing with it by any means John stones signed but he was a red and an honourable person ,that's not to say others not from tarn aren't honourable but they aren't frumptarn .
