I work in quite a large office in Peterborough and there are a few Posh regulars. Couple of them I was talking to today both were extremely complimentary about his final 30 minutes performance, reckoned he bossed the game when he came on.
Thought he did alright for his first bit of league football for four months. I'm sure once he's had a run of starts there to build up the match fitness he lost at us he will do well for them.
I thought he did ok but I can't see where the Peterborough fans thought he bossed it. He certainly didn't bust a gut in the fashion of Hourihane or Scowen and I'm not sure if that was just fitness.
I'd assume he'd find himself behind Morsy if he came back now? (As well as Hourihane and Scowen). It sounds to me like his attitude might need to change if he were to come back and try to establish himself.
Good first touch to create space. Good movement off the ball behind the strikers. Good passing and holding on to possession. Not a match-winning performance (well, Posh didn't win), but plenty to admire. I can see Hecky needing a more intense work-rate and maybe that is where George needs to pick up match sharpness and pace. Good performance, I thought. Also watched Northampton v MKD and thought that the quality of football from both sides was very good and above what you would expect from League One. Steady performance from Lewin. Really good spikey performance from Jak McCourt - he caught the eye with his constant movement and work-rate on and off the ball. I would think that Northampton should do well this year, especially with Revell and Richards available to spearhead their attack. MKD disappointed a little, but played neat, brisk football. Their problem looks like being scoring goals. Maynard will be a big-money player for them, as will Agard, but Maynard in particular reminded me of why we don't bring in the likes of Keith Tracey and Leroy Lita any more .... just looked not that interested, in spite of the talent and would have to work so much harder if he is to score regularly. Might prove me wrong and get on a good scoring run and find his sharpness again, but little sign of it in that game.
