As my kid sister said, once upon a time you watched England and they were miles better than Barnsley. Now Barnsley look a better team, and play for the shirt.
FFS. This can't be something that actual people say. We got done by a 1/4 Everton team in pre season.
I gave up caring about the English football team long ago. I never thought I'd feel like that as a kid growing up watching Lineker, Waddle, Gazza, even when the likes of Froggatt and Tony Daley played for England I still wanted us to win, and there was something exciting about watching us play. Now it's just a bunch of overpaid, overhyped morons, and John Stones. Woeful. Inept. Boring.
But there is no denying that Barnsley are a better TEAM. England obviously have the better players but as a team Barnsley (and many others) are a much better unit. The England squad is just a load of egos planning their next advert
Ah dear. Think someone has had a bad Sunday. Probably ruined by watching that dross. Yeah I think they're all overpaid and *****. Is that a problem? Except Stones. I like John Stones. Struggling to see what you've got your frilly knickers in a twist over. You need to get out more mate. A lot of anger defending a **** team.
The England team may be better players but for entertainment, passion and style of play I'd rather watch Barnsley in the championship.
Seconded. I wouldn't cross the road any more to watch England. I have zero interest. I am not sure if I forgot they were playing today, or if I never knew in the first place. Either way, I didn't watch it.
It wasn't that long ago since you and a lot of the others on here were slagging the team off. Ask anyone that went to Altrincham about entertainment or those that went to Crewe and a few let their annoyance out and got criticised after the game by Hourihane for having the cheek to not applaud politely.
Altrincham was a very entertaining day. Spoiled by the 50 minutes of football I had the displeasure of watching. I was as pissed as a *******.
Loved it. Not sure which was more entertaining for me The match been drenched having two old women talk about this wonderful win watching Manchester United fans get off a tram for an hour because i'd miss the train by two minutes.
The football was turgid and sleep inducing under Johnson but those days feel a very long time ago. England are difficult to watch and unlike Barnsley, even when we were crap, I don't feel any connection with them. I only watched today because Stones was playing.
