But Twitter is awash with rumours of Hourihane to Sunderland £4.5m. Lots of accounts tweeting this, started just 20 mins ago
This is the tweet: Hourihane to sunderland is back on. Fee around 4.5 million with add ons agreed. Medical expected later today It was posted by a Leeds United supporter. I wouldn't worry too much. Having said that if £4.5m was on the table then it would be impossible for us to turn it down given that he is out of contract in 9 months. It won't come to that though!
Is that the original source you've found? I've seen a few others saying the same thing but in different words
Lots of bedroom tweeters attention seeking more like. That's not to say we wouldn't accept £4.5m, but seriously...
If Alfie is worth £5million + Hourihane is worth a lot more than 4.5Million to us He may go somewhere today - but I hope its for more than that at this stage of the window when we have no time at all to do anything to replace him ( not that he is replaceable easily even if we had time) Twitter rumours are by no means gospel though especially where we are concerned
Lens midfielder Didier Ngong having a medical at Sunderland according to Sky sources, so hopefully No Conor for them
It wasn't hash tagged with barnsleyfc, I just searched a couple of our players' names and when I searched Hourihane got 4 or 5 tweets suggesting it. Seems they're probably a load of bull, but I wouldn't have known that if I hadn't posted here, so just happy I did so I can stop mi panicking
Conor would be the hardest one of all to replace, bearing in mind that he brings to the team set piece delivery, other assists, goals from midfield, tackling back and leadership. strange if he went back to the club with whom he started. I would stick out for a much higher fee. Would George Moncur become the replacement? Does he have the same attributes? Could he be developed into a player of similar status. I seriously hope we hold on to Conor this window.
That's the only one I have found mate so there could be some substance to it. Would be very surprised if they offered £4.5m though.
Would be an awful bit of business considering we would have less than a day to find a replacement for someone who is statistically currently the best player in the championship. Also, considering recent business I don't think we are in desperate need of the cash.
Any player in the team can take a corner or free kick though. The Money offered is a hell of a lot for us to turn down. PC would need a big pair of ******** to turn it down. Let's not get carried away. We are Barnsley not Derby,Wednesday,Wolves etc. Even Ipswich cashed in on Daryl Murphy the other day
True, it was more of a reply to those saying we should sell him before his contract is up. In which case I think it'd be better to sell him come the January window rather than today.
