    Ive seen something on twitter also saying he's joined on a year long loan - can't say how reliable it is though

    Although a loan deal doesn't make a lot of sense to either club, dafter things have happened in football. Maybe the fact that he is in Egypt makes a permanent deal impossible in this window. So perhaps we have an option to buy in Jan.

    I get the feeling that we're opting for a loan because they're holding out for what they paid for him which if I remember right was north of £800k

    Disagree mate.... one, we don't have to folk out a big fee and decent wages for a good player (some wages and loan fee I know).. cos ill be on more at Wigan than here.

    And if he plays well here, if we don't want or can't afford him ... he'll be attracting the attention of other clubs who will know he's available
