The majority of the 'invited' teams are getting beaten tonight, a couple drawing, and only Everton and Norwich have won (Norwich beating P'boro 6-1). I expected the u23's to struggle to be honest in this tournament, and hopefully it will start to put to bed all this madness if the majority get knocked out in the groups.
For what it is worth the other sponsors sponsored a completion for first teams of two lower leagues. Was some credibility then
Some of the U23 teams had massive odds to win tonight as well. Good to see all the stadiums empty though.
Some awful attendances.... like 950 at Chessy vs Wolves.. Looks like footy fans won't be sold any old ***** after all
Charlie Adam played for stoke tonight. And a 28year old Frenchman scored a hat trick for Norwich. That's going to benefit the future of English football massively
Nearly all of them have been knocked out. Good news. Who knows - maybe WE will be invited to take part in it next season, as one of the top sides in the Championship. Wouldn't it be just great if we went to Wembley and won it again.
Ah, yes I forgot about that. Not being interested in it this year Ok, I HOPE they all get eliminated at the group stage. I also hope that matches played at their home grounds are attended by no more than 200 people.
would be nice to see the academy players in a cup game but i dont like the new format and im not going to do a U turn if barnsley get invited and agree with it
Quite glad about that given that prat at Chesterfield, Chris Turner, was in favour of this and also the 5 leagues rubbish
its nice to see football fans actually boycotting games in protest but i dont think it will change anything because somehow they will find a way to make a bigger profit this season than last season
If your on twitter go look at @AgainstLeague3 this is so funny if had the option I'd go boycott some stuff as well
they have made the trophy a big joke, just noticed sheffield united have 1 point and leicester city have 2 points because aparently for a draw you get the 1 point and if you win the penalty shoot out you get a bonus point how f*cking stupid

In the early millennium years I used to go to reserve games down oak well with crowds that used to match some of those for numbers. When reserves used to be proper games than a souped up youth game.
It's a disgrace as is this stupid league 3 thing I could semi understand a change to league structures so that the same number of clubs went up and down across all divisions but introducing B teams and inviting scottish clubs is farcical
Does anybody know if league 1 and league 2 clubs were given the option to decline an invitation to compete just like the premier league teams
It makes me laugh when one of the reasons for this change is to give all these youngsters game time at a competitive level. Maybe if the bigger clubs weren't stock piling these players in the first place they'd be playing competitive football in the FL...
I would imagine so. Every club is "invited" to compete in the leagues and cups, so I guess technically the FL would'ev invited Barnsley to compete in the Championship this year? Just like Manchester United declined the invitation to play in the FA Cup in 2002(?)
