Why does that mean he's off? Patrick and Paul have already said we won't be shipping out our best players unless they meet our value and with Conor on his last year I doubt anyone will stump up what we want for him so he'll stay this year keep improving and then either leave or sign a new contract at the end of the season. It's not hard, why does everyone think he's leaving just because he's a good player. He'd also get a much better club than Wolves. (Not really a rant at you Athersley just needed to vent)
Great watching him play and what a brilliant signing he was . Excellent captain and leader on the pitch too . Hoping we persuade him to stay and sign another contract
Depends how we do, and who comes in end of the season. Expect him to be in The Premier next season, deserves it.
I haven't seen anyone better than him yet. If he is still with us by 11.01pm on Wednesday, I'll be a very, very happy man.
it doesn't make sense to sell him, unless it's a ridiculous offer. And that doesn't make sense, because he'll go free end of season and set himself up for life. He won't sign another contract with us, but we've more than had our money's worth from his services. All good? Can i go back to my ****?
Without a doubt in my humble opinion. If we can achieve another miracle he may still be with us next season and beyond.
21 assists & 11 goals last year i believe. Already a few goals and assists this season he is the most important player we have, ask yourself how much would we need to spend to attract a player with such contributions? (A Fortune) The only way we sell is if we are offered what Barnsley deem as his current market value which for me would be a fortune. Only player in our squad that is irreplaceable.
League Played: 5 Goals: 2 Assists: 4 Let's face it he's fast become the complete midfielder and he's not done improving. Scores from open play, free kicks, hits great set pieces, can pass, tackle, good leader. There's not many of those about so what's he worth? Well if Mawson is worth £5m, then Hourihane is probably pushing £10m. He's not worth (nobody is), that, but that's clearly the going rate in this league. So let's be split the difference and say someone offers £7.5m quid for him with a sell on fee. What do we do?
Then we say go away. I genuinely believe that Hourihane's value to this team for at least this season is more important than money. If he was to resign a new contract and we received that bid next summer with time to replace and accommodate his departure then yes 10 mil would be a cracking deal but I think it's more important to the team that he stays this season and potentially leave on a free.
by our standards, connor has been absolutely amazing so far this season and yes it would make it harder to accept if he leaves in the next few days. what if we do keep on surprising teams and winning matches this season, will that tempt him to stay to the end of his contract. but bear in mind we wont get anything for him at all if that happens so im still unsure here what the best option is.
I think Conor's transfer to a bigger club is guaranteed on current form. That being the case, he might have a change of heart regarding a contract, which will allow us to get a decent fee for him in the future. It's what I'd do...
