Personally think that's why we signed Mocur as his replacement. Quite possibly Connor will go in the next few days.
How nice to not have to sell! Put up £10-£15m for one of the best players outside the prem or **** off.
Do we need to keep having threads hawking our best players out to low-end Premier relegation fodder and/or teams below us in the Championship that we've already whupped? Can't we just celebrate that we've got the talent, sit smugly in the knowledge that we don't need any money for a while and bask in our current performances? Jeez, I thought it'd be really upbeat on here after yesterday but what with multiple threads like this one and the mood hoover from Hemsworth with his ZX Spectrum generated shopping basket, it's the opposite. Might be wrong but fortunately I can't see Patrick even entertaining any more key departures this window, it would be business suicide given the momentum and spirit we've got going. It's time to carefully add, not subtract.
not a cat in hell's chance. out of contract end of season. no club is gonna offer big money for him. i reckon any bids would be stupidly low to reflect that
He loves Conor way too much to sell him. He says every time he's asked. Patrick might have a bit of a man crush so don't expect him to leave, he's too important to be sold, we will have 1000 times more chance of staying in this division with him and letting him go on a free. That's unless we carry on the way we are and are knocking on the play-offs door, he may well stay.
Depends how much they want him. Some clubs may bid now to secure his services,no guarantee they will get him if they leave it till his contract runs out. However having said that his agent probably now's now where he's going
This 100%. In the context of what we paid to get him, and what we've done in his (hopefully three years) time with us both in financial and football terms is where we get value from him, even without a transfer fee. Keep him until May and we go a long way to surviving in the championship and more.
He looks every inch a Premier League player so I'm not surprised. It would be a disaster to lose him and possibly the difference between survival and relegation.
When he signs a new contract we can offer free name and number printing on the back of shirts to celebrate it like we did with Hammill. What's that? We've no shirts to sell? Oh **** goes my idea then
everyman and his dog are starting rumours right now about connor, especially after what happened with alfie. i think we will have to get used to connor leaving sometime this season, but i just hope it wont be this week!!
As stated before - every player has his price I thought Mawson went a bit cheaply at £5M mainly because other centre backs like Maguire are being rumoured to be £7M But if someone comes in for Conor at the right price then we should sell I'll hoping that at some point during PCs rein that I'm going to be really surprised and chuffed with the amount he has got for a player - he's been there about 10 years now and I'm still waiting I think PC should take a few pointers from McCabe - although McCabe is a shocker of a owner of a club - he does know how to sell players
Surely even Barnsley wouldn't be daft enough to get rid of him now. If we can't keep hold of a player that will almost certainly be the difference between a season holding our own and a season of toil - when we've already banked 12mill in a couple of weeks, then there's absolutely no hope for us. Personally I don't think we'll see him leave. I think we'd have heard more rumours throughout the summer if he was going to go. Seems nowadays you get weeks of agents stoking up interest before a move. I don't think we've really seen that for Connor so I have a sneaky feeling we'll be OK.
one things for sure, hes on fire right now and i think this is the best footy hes ever played for us. it shows he will perform while hes still here, but he is putting himself in the shop window and scouts & agents must be sniffing around at the moment. how much is 'enough' if we do sell him this week ? i think it will be a dreadful decision if we do sell him but lets wait and see eh.
Since, as of this morning, the club haven't had a single offer for him from those clubs, I'm calling bull **** on this!
He helped get a side promoted to the premier league and on saturday returned from injury so will now be playing top flight football. Of course he's going to go for more than Alfie.
