and to be fair to the Rotherham fans they were quite generous in there plaudits for us... one or two sour grapes but generally speaking the seemed to acknowledge that Barnsley were the better team on the day. Now if that had been a DeeDah side.... hmmm

Spoke to a Rotherham fan after the match who said ' you absolutely smashed us in ' . I thought it was a bit closer than that especially the first half but hey ho I wasn't going to argue with him .

The Rotherham fans were fairly gracious and honest; the Rotherham manager was deluded. If I was a Rotherham fan I wouldn't be happy with the way he saw the game.

i wouldnt normally care one little bit what the opposition fans think, but i dont mind Rotherham's fans actually and its good to hear that most of them were honest.

Agree with that. I know managers have a habit of protecting the team in the post match guff but it has always annoyed me when we have had managers who appear to have watched a different game to me.

I actually thought we couldn't cope with how awful, ponderous and slow they were in the first half, it caught us by surprise, almost like it was the game plan to suddenly pick up the pace and counter us. We didn't like the pace and made us look poor. In the second half we came out and imposed our pace and style on the game more and it worked. They couldn't cope handle it and it paid off. Their heads went down after the second which was fortuitous however we made our luck, created the chance and had a shot. Don't shoot , don't score.

I have nothing against Rotherham but I agree with those that are saying the are not as strong as last season however they have had a lot of transfers and if you remember our start to last season under similar circumstances there is plenty of time for it to turn round.

Well done Barnsley. Dont look back. Dont fear anyone and play with passion and pride.

Totally. Sometimes we lose sight of who the majority of fans are - decent people like most of us. Don't get the "hate" of clubs or fans - although I get very close with Leeds and Sheffield United. Get on great with most Rovrum fans. Decent folk in the majority.
