Why sell someone who essentially would be part of our survival/promotion run who has two years left on his contract. Undisclosed tells the story.

He wanted the transfer. We wanted the money as player sales and reinvestment are part of the plan. Good deal for all sides and leaves us with some money to reinvest.

Agree. Think it's a great bit of business personally, much as I love Alfie.

Good luck to him for the future. Top player and, from what I've seen, top man.

Cheers for being part of a collective that created some really special BFC memories.

why are all our sales undisclosed fees now, are they continually trying to hide something from us as fans ?
and as for this being a 'good deal' where we can re-invest.. i disagree. im sick of seeing us do this and yet again it comes across as a smack in the face for us when our good players are always sold on and lets face it, how many times do we really replace these top players with anybody as good.

Undisclosed means other clubs don't know how much brass we've got burning in our back pocket while we're trying to buy their players.

    In theory. But it doesn't.

Everyone in football will know exactly how much we get.

Undisclosed just means we as fans don't know how much we have got to spend (or not to spend), and the buying clubs fans don't know how much they've paid in case there's some kind of revolt.

Every football club will know exactly how much we get for him, it'll probably already be known before the deal is done; and they'll also know that we got a lot from the stones deal.

Which is why I wouldn't rush to spend too much, there is bound to be a Barnsley premium even in league one and two in the same way there's a premier league premium all over Europe, if a player is moving to England his transfer fee goes up 50%.

"If Barnsley want a centre half then he must be a possible franz beckenbauer or Bobby Moore - stick a zero on the end" -we aren't desperate. Give Angus a go and bring a kid in.
