    I would what the odds are on a Stones/Holgate CB partnership for England at some point.

    It would be nice for that to happen. But saying that I don't think Holgate is anywhere near the level of Stones at the same age.
    There's a lot more work to be done with him.

    By the standard of the England squad I don't think he needs to be.

    if it does happen have we ever had two players from barnsley in an england squad at the same time? and played on the pitch together?

    Mark Jones and Tommy Taylor? I'm not statto so don't quote me.

    No scrub that my dad says Mark was selected but didn't play.

    Holgate's a class act. He got under rated on here because of the way he left. With the lack of English defenders & Jagielka & Jones' injury records it wouldn't be the biggest shock in the world if he got a call up to the first team at some point in the next season or two

    With Big Sam at the helm I think Holgate might have a better chance than Stones at England centre back , Allardyce isn't going to mess about with tippy tappy from the back
