Is Callum Evans nowhere near the first team then? He's 21 in two months, 2 years older than James Bree, a year younger than Alfie Mawson and a year older than Ryan Kent, slightly older than Sessi D'Almeida. Now I'm not saying that his age means he just be ready or anything but people appear to be completely dismissing him as nothing but a little school kid and pretending he doesn't exist when saying we need a new left back. Is he really so far away from professional football?
Re: Is Callum Evans nowhere near the first team then? Never played a game in his career. Int he injured at the minute?
Re: Is Callum Evans nowhere near the first team then? I've no idea, I know pretty much nothing about him except his age. In the good old days were players hidden away for so long?

Re: Is Callum Evans nowhere near the first team then? Injured at the moment so any potential chance to prove himself will have to wait. Therein lies the problem for me, young players getting a run of games to prove themselves. No young player (except wonderful talents such as Stones) are first-team ready from the off. They all need a chance and then a proper run of games to bed in. With the exception of George Smith, who due to circumstances played a lot of football after his debut, so few academy graduates have had more than a sniff of first team action. We'll not know whether Evans, Templeton, Cowgill etc are good enough without game time, but it takes a brave manager to put them in away at Birmingham/Derby/Ipswich. For me, I don't see why it shouldn't be Cowgill pushing to be next in line at centre half, rather than the lad MacDonald from Torquay, buy hey ho.
Re: Is Callum Evans nowhere near the first team then? Looked alright in pre season, played left back even though he only uses his left foot to stand up.
