https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/aug/24/french-police-make-woman-remove-burkini-on-nice-beach I honestly can't believe what I am seeing. Four armed men stood around a woman on the beach making her take some of her clothes off. The article also mentions other people on the beach clapping and shouting 'go home'. The ban specifically refers to the attack in Nice. How on earth do they come to the conclusion that banning a woman wearing what is essentially leggings and a dress at the beach is the logical step to take after a man drove a truck into a crowd of people?
Completely agree. A very distasteful episode. It's worrying how much this kind of low mentality seems to be taking hold.
Should just cluster bomb the beach to make sure they get the obvious terrorist and the thousands of terrorist sympathizers sat near here that didn't report the dangers.
Who exactly are you attributing this quote to? Because I can't see anyone use this phrase in the article or original post..
It's all I've heard since it happened, perhaps not in those exact words. Rules are rules, whether you agree with them or not. It's just another case of the media getting hold of something, running with it, and suddenly everyone is up in arms. Sheep.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-37183083 3rd picture down. They look like they are carrying firearms to me.
It makes even less sense because it is only banned on the beach. Why a woman can walk down the street in leggings and tunic and that's fine but as soon as she steps onto the beach she is fined makes no sense.
Not forgetting france is still a very secular Catholic country with all that entitles. Not forgetting the country has already banned the burka and had the ban upheld by echr the whole thing on tje beach was a set up designed to cause a backlash and controversy.
Rules are Rules. Would someone Drinking or kissing on the street in Dubai be dealt with any less severe. French have a rule of no Burkas. Agree with it or not but it's their Rules
I don't have an opinion on the ridiculous thing you said I just laughed at someone using "sheep" unironically.
