Jeff Hendrick is currently injured (since Scowen took care of him) and is seen by Derby fans as their worst midfielder. I wouldn't have him here. That's my opinion formed on watching him more than you have, Phil. Hourihane is twice the footballer, and then some. Currently the TOP performing player in the Championship, on every statistical website. Will be a contender for player of the month, especially if he scores or creates again this Saturday. And Bradshaw is on standby with Wales. He wasn't great at Huddersfield but I felt he did well previous to that. The goals will come. Lovely lad too. No idea why any Reds supporter wouldn't be right behind both lads, especially Hourihane who is practically a legend already. Best group of lads representing us for a good ten years. Not a Frimpong among em. That said, I don't give a **** if our players are called up by their national sides. Nice if they are, nice if they aren't. But aye, I really rate our players. Bizarre, I know. But there it is.
He's in the squad released on the 24/08/16. Always impresses me does Hendrick. It's not hard to see where Hourihane falls short. He's got to improve if he thinks he can play international Football and even for better clubs than Barnsley.
Jeff Hendrick in the Championship last season, played 35 games, 2 goals, 2 assists. For high flying Derby. Conor Hourihane has played 4 Championship games, 2 goals, 2 assists. I'm not disputing Jeff's call up, Phil. I'm just telling you he's injured. As for Conor, I can't wait for the day he comes up trumps, if this last two years, 27 goals and 53 assists, two trophies, is 'falling short'. The only falling is me, falling off my chair reading your latest pearls of wisdom.
It's all about what he does when they don't have the ball Conan. He's not been picked so theirs got to be something HE can do better. It's off the ball if it wasn't clear to anyone.
Hmmmm, if we're classing "better" as bigger and with more money and I'm not denying there are plenty in our league........are you telling me none of them would want him because he's not good enough?
YT. We BOTH know that the starts of goals and assist isn't what O'neil will look at. How many goals do Matic score, or did Claude Makélélé. Very little and it's what was needed.
So what you do without the ball is a bigger attribute than what you do with it? Just in case you missed it Phil
I'm done for tonight, matey. I have limited myself to no more than four posts a day. I've just reached that limit. Have a good evening.
How come sensible posters are limiting themselves to four posts a day when ...when....gibbering idiots are giving themselves free rein!?
I defend you a lot, and I feel the criticism and bullying comes your way is totally unacceptable. You're a passionate reds fan who's not afraid to voice his opinion(s) which is to be admired. But this post? Bloody hell, Hemsy.
I dont follow the Premiership with any great detail. How do the players you have mentioned compare with CH on form? Sometimes the most talented players aren't always the form players, thus aren't the best players for an International team. England have got this wrong for years for instance... Also, Football is a game of opinions. If an individual things CH is better than Jordan Henderson, then thats their opinion and its not for you to to be calling them out on or your place to belittle them for it. Just like if you think something, then others shouldn't try and belittle you. There is a difference between giving your opinion on a subject and having pops at folk...
Genuine question... Money no object, if we had a 5 year contract to give to a midfielder tomorrow, would you give it to Hourihane or Emmanuel Frimpong?
Callum O Dowda, Oxford. Why was he picked ahead of Hourihane? Conor had more goals, more assists in a higher division? Would really love you to stop picking holes in our own players, players you are supposed to be supporting. By the way, we all know everyone can improve - that doesn't justify anything you say. Also, comparing everything to Barcelona, Real Madrid etc., is irrelevant. We all know where posts like this lead. Please stop it.
Expect better than that Fired. The player you mention isn't in a lower division than Connor at all. Plus you're comparing apples and Oranges. He's not player in the same position
