Agree wholeheartedly with this and no-one can accuse Alfie of not giving 100% as all this speculation goes on. Well done him and the Club.

    It's a good point.

    We all bought into it.

We all agreed with it mostly.

Now we are about to start seeing that plan materialise with the few sales. It's all wrong and we all panic.

Glad I'm not having to make this decision personally.

Stick witht the plan we set out. Or abandon it now we have some success. Tough call

Much rather keep hold of them and do better in the league.

Isn't selling players at the top of the market, and using said funds to buy and develop players subsequently purchased from other clubs before they reach the top of the market all part of the same plan. The point is that the plan is continuous. It does not end because we sell a player. It continues with other players of whom none of us have any knowledge of just yet. That is the plan, you fund on-going football activities by buying players cheap, improving them and selling them on at a profit.

That's exactly the plan. It's a shame promotions and relegations have to get in its way

The "plan" depends upon the quality of the player either home developed or recruited.

The "plan" therefore is not the simple idea of recruiting.

The "plan" is the application of science to the development/ recruitment process.

Whether our "plan" works in the long term remains to be seen.

My point being that promotion clouds fans opinion on players (such as Mawson) who we want to keep but the plan dictates we should sell. If we were still in league one and we sold him que sera, such is life etc. long live the plan!

It works well for us. But on the flipside if other aspects of the club were improved and could be milked more we could have a better chance of holding onto our best players longer. It's much better when you've guys like Hassell, Steele ect who stayed long term so you feel kinda attached to them as a person rather than just a football player commodity. I do fear the days of us keeping the same top player for around a decade or abit less has long gone now.

Put simply the plan is the only way a club like ours can possibly compete in Tier 2.
