In pre-season he got 45 mins at Stalybridge & 20 mins in the last 2 friendlies. He hasn't got on in the league & didn't get on in the League Cup. Looked good in the short spells I saw him but he must be far from pleased at how much game time he is getting.
With the wingers we have we could sign Isgrove and then you could easily say the same about all four of them. Doesn't mean you should question why we signed any of them though. There's a pecking order and I'm sure that's reflected in the salaries/transfer fees we pay for players in all positions. Doesn't have to stay that way with dedication and good performances. Seize your chance when you're eventually given it.
Saw his dad in the main reception when I was picking up my QPR tickets. Not exciting or anything to do with him playing but there you go!
Plus there is also the point that Adam hammill misses quite a few games through injury and suspension, Watkins misses quite a few though injury and Kent is completely untried. Given most our players' penchant for picking up cards and quite a few of them injury rates I wouldn't be too concerned if I was currently a 'backup' player , they will definitely get their chances. Moncur is a great player as is lee, Bradshaw too (I know he's playing) and yiadom impressed me in friendlies
Are we now only signing players who will walk into the first XI immediately? I must have missed the memo.
Well this is a massive step up for him so he will have to bide his time before he gets to play with the big boys
Yes he was very good. Great technique on his shot and an excellent ball out to the wing for the goal.
Recruitment as a whole has been poor. Moncur, Lee and Yiadom can't get a look in and Bradshaw will be out as soon as Winnall is fit. The best two signings are looking like a loanee and a Conference player. Will we do any business in the next eight days?
Can't see the issue. The season's barely started & we've got no injuries to our first choice wingers, sooner or later he'll get a look in.
Way too soon to be making judgements like that in my opinion. We've only played 5 games. It seems to be like he's tried to keep things as close to last season as possible whilst he gets the new lads up to speed & in tune with how we want to play. I think Bradshaw would also be coming off the bench were it not for Winnall's injury
We're four games into the season, and we only have eleven places on the field at any one time. It's obvious that players are going to get injured, suspended and lose form, or that the system will need tweaking in some games. Certain signings we've made in the past have taken far longer than this to come good (Winnall), and in the case of Steve Davis, he was either injured or crap for the first season and a half with us. It's not like the players you mention aren't in the matchday squad, they're on the bench. Would you rather our subs were a band of loanees and youth players?
