That he's coming up against two teams that didn't see the best of him in Huddersfield & Rotherham. A lot of ridicule from their camps about his ability I've noticed. It could go a number of ways. It gets him fired up and he replicates his Wembley magic, it gets him too fired up and he lashes out in frustration possibly getting sent off or he overthinks it all & freezes up like COG vs SWFC. I really just hope its at the back of his mind and he plays as normal. Unfortunately judging his character I can see his bad side coming out, even if he's brilliant he'll probably end up doing an Adebayor celebration or summat. It would be extra annoying if he didn't turn up though I must admit. It would be quite satisfying to prove his doubters wrong.
Personally, I hate it when our fans start booing a player because I always picture that moment they score and come running past the cop hands on ears, had happened before and would love him to do the same for us!
I think we have to accept Hammill isn't going to influence a game by the same margin he did last season due to the better opposition we are facing. Hope he has a stormer tomorrow though.
A lad at work who supports Huddersfield is genuinely scared of what Hammill might do tomorrow. He said he felt he never got a fair crack. But what I said was that we've built a squad, in which Hammill isn't always the star player. This isn't a criticism of Hammill's ability, but we've seen in the last two games that he can have a brilliant game, and be completely overshadowed by 4 or 5 other players in our team. It'd be great to see him return there and steal the show. But I don't think it will be at detriment to us if he doesn't because we have so many other players capable of doing itm Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
I think he will have a blinder today and be ever so determined to show them what they let go. Our two home games he got some balls into the box but wasn't anywhere near his usual standard as he was usually doubled and at times even trebled up on the marking.
I don't think he'll give a tinker's cuss to be honest. He's well loved by the Barnsley fans, has total belief in his ability again and is playing in and for a team that loves him.
Teams are going to try & nullify him as much as possible. In the Derby & QPR games this has meant more space on the other flank for Kent. As long as we are picking up points it doesn't matter who is getting the goals / MOTM nominations. He'll still score some "worldies", (as I think they are referred to these days), I'm sure.
Don't think Hammill has reached the heights of last season yet, things on his mind with his Mrs ready to give birth.
I hope they are so focused on keeping Hammill quiet, that they underestimate what Hourihane, Kent, Watkins, Bradshaw & Scowen might do!
