When you have someone of the class of Alfie Mawson then surely they have to make plans when people start getting interested. Surely it's, he'll be sold when a club meets Alfie's valuation. People are putting on who they think would be a good replacement. Just hope the club have something in place.
If you listen back to previous interviews Heckingbottom has made it clear that there is constant activity to ensure replacements for all players are identified.
The only good news is that it will be easier to replace our secondary centre back than it would be if we lost our best defender
I've listen to most not if all of them all summer EN. Just found it a strange quote. Now it's a quote via a journalist rather than from Heckingbottom via audio or a video. Also I hope the club are telling Aflie via his agent then it's done soon or not at all. Start to put the squeeze on. People putting bids in 48 hours before a match isn't need for player or club.
I would do everything possible to keep Alfie with us but if it doesn't work and he does leave then I think Long is the ideal replacement.
Don't think he's quite good enough on the ball MK. Mawson's got a good range of passing and will often be able to put in a 40/50 yard pass cross field that allows the winger to really attack the full back. It's a good part of our game imo.
tbf I'd reckon they know who they want - but obvs need to get a deal agreed before we can let Mawson go.
Carefull we let him go and not get a replacement that meets requirements then we get a replacement that still does not spark . end up spending money which leaves us light . Or it could just turn out fine.
